Ms. Whitney Cherre' Jones

It is with heartfelt sympathy that the management and staff of Mitchell-Josey Funeral Home, Inc., and members of the Jones family announce the transition of Ms. Whitney Cherre' Jones of Darlington, SC. Ms. Jones passed away peacefully at her residence in Darlington, SC, on Saturday, November 16, 2024, following an illness.

Obituary 

             “I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith; Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.”                                                                                   II Timothy 4:7-8

    Ms. Whitney Cherre’ Jones, aka “Lil Bit”, was born on November 29, 1985.  She departed this life on Saturday, November 16, 2024 at her residence surrounded by her loved ones.

    Whitney received her formal education in the Darlington County Public Schools graduation from Darlington High School.  She furthered her education at Virginia Technical College.  She was employed at The Presbyterian Community of Florence as a CNA and Medical Technician.

    Whitney was a loving and caring person with a beautiful smile.  She loved and cherished her wonderful daughter, Jorden. Whitney also loved participating in family gatherings. She enjoyed music, dancing and fashion.  Whitney was very particular about every fashion choice, whether it was clothing, hairdos or high heels.  She was a warrior who bravely battled breast cancer for eight years.  

    She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents: Earl & Annie Jones; her maternal grandmother, Carrie Rouse; her favorite uncle, Stephon Maurice Jones; her eldest niece whom she adored, Nykeisha Rouse; several aunts, uncles and cousins.

    Those left to cherish her precious memory are:  her beautiful and devoted daughter, Jorden M. Jones of the home; her parents: James A. (Dorean) Jones of Florence, SC, Thomasena Rouse Jones of Darlington, SC and Misty Raye of Baltimore, MD; her sisters: Kameshia Rouse of Darlington, SC, Dana Lee of Florence, SC and Shanta Herbert of Baltimore, MD; her brothers: Antenard Rouse, Terrance Jones, Quantrel Hankins of Darlington, SC; DaShawn Lee of Florence, SC, Kevin Stanford and Keith Stanford both of Baltimore, MD; nieces, nephews: Kemon, Kingston, Jayden, Travis, Kalaysia, Heaven, Diamond, Kyla, Kaziah, Madison, Arielle, Serenity, Carly, Qua’Nari and a special niece, Amariah Bleadsoe; a special aunt, Jessie Mae Richardson; special cousins: Alicia (Timothy) Taylor; god-brothers: Calvin Lucas, Jr. and Marcus Lisbon; god-son, Bryson; special friends: Krystal Dubose, Jessica Brown and Terez McGill; god-mothers: Desiree Dubose and Teresa McGill; a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Visitation for family and friends will be held 12:30 PM-6:00 PM daily at the home, 1410 Sheldon Dr., Darlington, SC.

Public viewing will be 12:00 Noon to 4:00 PM, Friday, November 22, 2024, at Mitchell-Josey Funeral Home, Inc., 612 S. Main St, Darlington, SC.

Funeral services will be 11:00 AM, Saturday, November 23, 2024, at Macedonia Baptist Church, 400 S. Main St, Darlington, SC. Interment will follow at Round O Baptist Cemetery, Mont Clare Rd., Darlington, SC.
