It is with heartfelt sorrow that the management and staff of Mitchell-Josey Funeral Home, Inc. announces the passing of Ms. Teresa Fox Brown of Darlington. Ms. Brown transitioned early Friday morning, March 13, 2020 in a Florence hospital.
Funeral service will be 2:00 PM on Friday, March 20, 2020 at True Gospel Church of Jesus Christ, 2203 Harry Byrd Highway, Darlington. Elder Jimmy Baker, Pastor. Burial will follow in Darlington Memory Gardens.

“For now I am ready to be offered and the time of my departure is at hand. I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith, henceforth, there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness which the Lord, the righteous Judge, shall give me at that day; and not to me only, but unto all them also that love His appearing.” II Timothy 4:6-8
Ms. Teresa Olivia Fox Brown was born on March 21, 1952 in Darlington, SC a daughter of the late Annie Mae Fox and Woodrow Holloway. She gained her eternal wings on Friday, March 13, 2020 at McLeod Hospice House, Florence, SC.
She attended the Darlington County Schools and graduated from Mayo High School. She was a member of Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church where she sang on the Mass Choir.
She worked numerous jobs, but her last place of employment was Citi-Trends Distribution Center where she worked for ten years.
Teresa, who was affectionately called “Peezy”, was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and cousin who loved her family, especially her grandkids. Our dancing Queen was always smiling. To know “Peezy” was to love her. It was always a joy and pleasure to be in her presence.
Those left to cherish her loving memory are: two daughters: Pamela M. Stevenson and Shontell T. Stevenson both of Darlington, SC; ten grandchildren: Phillip, Demetrius, Montrel, Kimberly, Johnny, Hashani, Aliyah, Javari, Ji’Quavis and Lamont; one great grandchild, Ava; three brothers and five sisters: Donald (Mae) Terry of Darlington, SC, William (Patricia) Terry of Hartsville, SC, Bishop James (Sandra) Fox of Lakeland, FL, Rudell Lucas, Charlene Ross, Rose Marie (Michael) Haynesworth all of Darlington, SC, Lillian (Arthur) Scott and Edna Mae Terry both of Hartsville, SC; one aunt, Sarah Fox Bacote of Hartsville, SC; a special companion, Willie Peebles, Jr. of the home; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends; a special sister, Johnnie Mae Charles. A special family, The Peebles Family of Bishopville, SC.
Visitation for relatives and friends of Ms. Teresa Fox Brown will be held at the residence of a daughter, Pamela Stevenson, 201 Nordell Street, Darlington.
