It is with profound sorrow that the members of the Williamson and Graham families along with the management and staff of Mitchell-Josey Funeral sorrowfully announce the sudden passing of Ms. Sophia Williamson of Darlington, SC.  Ms. Williamson passed away Sunday morning, October 3, 2021 at McLeod Health in Florence, SC, following a sudden illness. 

Funeral service is 2:00PM on Monday, October 11, 2021 in Wilds Quarter Cemetery, Rogers Road, Darlington.  Interment will follow.  Please adhere to mask wearing and social distancing.

On Sunday, October 3, 2021 at McLeod Health in Florence, SC, Ms. Sophia Willette Williamson quietly and peacefully accepted her wings from her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Ms. Sophia Willette Williamson was born on July 14, 1981 in Darlington, South Carolina to Katherine Graham Williamson and the late Willie Williamson, Jr.

She attended the public schools in Darlington County and was a member of the Class of 1999 at Darlington High School.

Sophia worked various jobs in Darlington and Florence Counties. She was most recently employed by QVC of Florence, South Carolina.

Sophia was a member of Bethel African Methodist Episcopal Church, a member of Class 7. 

A loving and devoted person were characteristics of Sophia. To know her was to love her.  Sophia never met a stranger and would always greet you with a smile. She was a glamorous and loved different hairstyles and her lashes.

She was a loving mother, daughter, and family member.

Sophia will be truly missed by her five loving sons: Kentrey Wesley, Treysean Wesley, Jayden Hudson, Kayden Hudson, and Zamir Hudson all of the home; her devoted mother: Katherine Graham Williamson; her god-son, Jaylan Waiters, Jr.; three adopted sisters: Darnel (Lakeem) Jones, Tiffany Henry and Shaqin Waiters; two adopted brothers: Eric Graham and Jaylan Waiters  all of Darlington; two aunts: Modestine (Archie) Dargan and Tabitha Alford; six uncles: Herbert (Dorothy) Alford, Roosevelt (Gwendolyn) Graham, Ronnie (Gloria) Graham, Kascey (Nancy) Graham, Gary Graham and Eddie Peterson; three grand aunts: Mrs. Elvira Williamson Dixon, Mrs. Hermenia DuBose and Mrs. Lille Mae Williams; one grand uncle, Frank (Martha) Graham; a special friend: Sinatra Hunter; best friend, Janet Jackson; a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.

Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the residence, 308 Orange Street, Darlington.
