Ms. Sheila Green

It is with heartfelt sorrow that the management and staff of Mitchell-Josey Funeral Home, Inc. announces the passing of Ms. Sheila Green of Timmonsville, SC.  Ms. Green passed on Wednesday, October 06, 2022 at McLeod Regional Medical Center following an illness.  

Funeral service is 3:00PM on Wednesday, October 12, 2022 in Center Baptist Church. Interment will follow in Hart No. 2 Cemetery. 

Obituary

     “God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change; the courage to change the things I can and the wisdom to know the difference.” 

     Miss Sheila Green was born in Darlington, South Carolina on September 26, 1959, a daughter of the late Cleveland Zimmerman and Annie Green.  She departed this life on Wednesday, October 5, 2022 in McLeod Regional Medical Center, Florence, SC.

     She grew up in Harlem, New York where she received her education at Jane Adam High School, graduating in Class of 1977.  After returning to South Carolina, she continued her education at Florence-Darlington Technical College with an Associate’s Degree in Social Work. 

    She was a member of Center Baptist Church, Timmonsville, SC.

    Sheila was preceded in death by her parents: Cleveland Zimmerman & Annie Green Zimmerman;  her daughter, Latisha Baker; a grandson, Rahiem Fortune and her soulmate, Delane Daniels. 

     Those left to cherish her memory are:  her daughter, Shirmira Green (Eric) of Timmonsville, SC; a sister, Dana Zimmerman of Darlington, SC; three brothers: James Zimmerman, Ronnie Zimmerman both of Timmonsville, SC and Derrick Zimmerman of Darlington, SC; grandsons: Bernard “Nuke” Baker, Jerald Green and Saquawn “Sae” Baker; two great grandchildren: Rahiem Fortune and Latisha Fortune; three special nieces: Nyiema Zimmerman, Shakema Zimmerman and Valicia Zimmerman;  a son-in-law, Pete Baker; a special cousin, Shirley Zimmons; a host of other relatives and friends. 

Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at 587 Davis Street, Lamar, SC.
