Ms. Sharine Jayne Robinson

It is with heartfelt sorrow that the management and staff of Mitchell-Josey Funeral Home, Inc. and members of the Anderson and Robinson families announce the sudden passing of their loved one, Ms. Sharine Jayne Robinson of Lamar, SC.  Ms. Robinson passed away early Monday morning, September 11, 2023 at a Hartsville hospital following a sudden illness. 

Funeral service is 2:00PM on Saturday, September 16, 2023 at Powerhouse Faith Ministry, Lamar. Interment will follow in Plaza Memorial Cemetery. 

Obituary

   “God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change; the courage to change the things I can and the wisdom to know the difference.”  

  Ms. Sharine Jayne Robinson was born in Darlington, SC, on February 18, 1977, a daughter of Barbara Anderson Bacote and James Robinson. She departed this life on Monday, September 11, 2023, at Carolina Pines Regional Medical Center, Hartsville, SC.

    Sharine received her formal education in the Darlington County Public School System and graduated from Lamar High School, Class of 1995.

     “Squeaky,” as she was affectionately called by family and friends, was a down-to-earth, easygoing, happy, and outgoing person. She had a lively personality and always made people around her laugh. She made friends everywhere she went and to know her was to love her.

    Those left to cherish Sharine’s memory are her mother: Barbara Bacote of Lamar, SC; father: James Robinson of Lamar, SC; two children: Shaimon Staggers and Missie Dukes, both of Lamar, SC; four sisters: Tammy (Kirby) Woodham, Crystal Robinson, Gloria Anderson and Pricilla Anderson; one grandson, D’Angelo B. Nero, Jr.; nieces: Jemea, Rasheeda, Heaven, Yasmine, Sky, Precious, Grace and Carisma; nephews: Dontrez, Frederick and Charles; several aunts, uncles and cousins; a special friend who was the love of her life: Jeffery Baker of Lamar, SC; of host of other relatives and friends.

    She was preceded in death by:  one sister, Bartina “Pookie” Robinson and her step-father, Bruce Ervin Bacote.

Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the residence of her mother. Mrs. Barbara Ann Anderson Bacote, 219 Charlotte Avenue, Lamar, SC.
