Ms. Merlinda Mae Lane

It is with heartfelt sorrow that the management and staff of Mitchell-Josey Funeral Home, Inc. announces the passing of Ms. Merlinda Lane of Darlington. Merlinda passed on Sunday, January 16, 2022 in McLeod Regional Medical Center following an illness.

Funeral service is 2:00PM on Monday, January 24, 2022 at Faith Memorial Gardens with Bishop Wesley Belin, Officiating. Interment will follow. Please adhere to mask wearing and social distancing. 

Obituary

   Ms. Merlinda Mae Lane was born October 8, 1970 in Darlington County, a daughter of Katie Oliver Lane and the late Leroy Lane.  She entered into her final resting place on Sunday, January 16, 2022 in McLeod Regional Medical Center, Florence, SC.

    She received her formal education in the Darlington County Public School System.

    Merlinda was a loving daughter, sister, family member and friend.  To know her was to love her.  She will be missed by her family and friends.

    She leaves to cherish her fond memory:  her mother, Katie Lane Jackson; three sisters: Diane (Herbert) Ross, Mazie (Jessie) Nettles and Hester Johnson all of Darlington, SC; two brothers: John Henry Lane of Darlington, SC and Allen Lane of Dillon, SC; three aunts: one uncle; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

  She was preceded in death by: a brother, Joseph Lane and a sister, Sheilia Ann Lane.

Visitation for relatives and friends is held at the residence of a sister, Hester Johnson, 317 Pineville Road, Darlington.
