Ms. Kadajah McKay

It is with heartfelt sorrow that the management and staff of Mitchell-Josey Funeral Home, Inc. and members of the Mack and McKay families share the the untimely passing of Ms. Kadajah McKay of Darlington.  Ms. McKay expired on Monday, January 2, 2023.

Funeral service is 12 Noon on Wednesday, January 11, 2023 at Macedonia Baptist Church. Interment will follow in Faith Memorial Gardens.

Ms. Kadajah Mable McKay, a daughter of Viola Mack McKay and the late Howard McKay,  was born July 2, 1997 in Florence, SC. Kadajah passed on Monday, January 2, 2023 in Darlington, SC. 

Kadajah lived all of life in Darlington, SC.  She attended the Darlington County Public School System and was a proud graduate of Darlington High School, Class of 2015. Kadajah furthered her education at Limestone College and later attended Virginia College in 2018, where she graduated with cum laude honors. 

Kadajah was very active in the workforce. She was employed with Eastern Carolina Pediatrics and later at McLeod Medical Plaza, Florence, SC, where she was a Certified Medical Assistant until her demise. 

Kadajah loved life, her family, and the Lord.  She was baptized at Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church and later became an active member at New Zion Deliverance Baptist Church.  

Those left to cherish the many fond memories of Kadajah Mable McKay are: her son, Karson Jeremiah Lee of the home; her devoted mother, Viola Mack McKay Capers of the home; her twin sister, Kadejah Lucille McKay of Darlington; other siblings: Shaquandolyn T. Mack of Darlington, SC,  Dedrick (Christian) Mack of Florence, SC, Tasha (Russell) Green of Baltimore, MD; a special cousin like a sister, Uniqua (Jason) McDowell of Columbia, SC; step siblings: Christopher Hudson (Stephanie) of Florence, SC,  Jimmy (Denise) Capers of Lancaster, SC,  Marvin (Kimberly) Cooper of Darlington, SC and Antoinette Capers of Columbia, SC; maternal grandmother, Mrs. Mable Gibson Mack of Darlington, SC; paternal grandmother, Mrs. Lucille McKay McNeil of Darlington, SC; several nieces and nephews; a godchild, Kyleigh Jackson; a special cousin, Kyshia McCoy; a host aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends. 

Kadajah was preceded in death by her father, Mr. Howard McKay; brother, Gregory McKay; step-father, Mr. Jimmy Capers; her grandfathers, Mr. James H. Mack and Mr. James Gattison. 

Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the residence, 1317 Gemini Drive, Darlington, daily from 4:00PM to 9:00PM.
