Ms. Joyce Ann Bostic

It is with profound sorrow that the management and staff of Mitchell-Josey Funeral Home, Inc. and members of the Bostic family announces the passing of Ms. Joyce Ann Bostic of Darlington. Ms. Bostic passed on Wednesday, October 19, 2022 in a Florence hospital following an illness. 

Funeral service is 1:00PM on Wednesday, October 26, 2022 in Cherry Grove Baptist Church. Interment will follow in the Church Cemetery. 

Obituary

Ms. Joyce Ann Bostic was born in Darlington, South Carolina on March 15, 1959 a daughter of the late Cleveland Bostic, Sr. and Lucille Berry Bostic. She entered into her eternal resting place on Wednesday, October 19, 2022 at McLeod Regional Medical Center, Florence, SC.

She received her formal education in Darlington County Public Schools where she was a graduate of Mayo High School Class of 1977.

Joyce Ann was a member of Cherry Grove Baptist Church.

Ms. Bostic was a former employee of Nytronics.  She was employed at Hampton Inn & Suites of Florence and CMA Services of Hartsville until her health declined.

Joyce Ann was a very kind-hearted, free spirited and loving person.  She was known to be the “life of the party”!  She loved Shopping and traveling with her family.  Joyce was known for hosting most of the family events where there was nothing but fun, dancing and plenty of laughter.  She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Those left to cherish the memory of Ms. Joyce Ann Bostic are:  her daughter, Sherall (Dennis) Cotton of Darlington, SC; three grandchildren: Timariel “Shaquanna” Bostic, Dennis Cotton, Jr. and Baby DaNiyla Cotton; one sister, Diane (Jimmy) Jacobs of Darlington, SC; seven brothers: James Berry, Charles Berry, Cleveland Bostic, Jr., Bernard Bostic, David (Gwendolyn) Bostic, Wallace Benjamin and James Jackson all of Darlington, SC; one god-brother, Cilbert Smith of Florida; one god-sister, Wilhemenia Johnson of Florence, SC; two uncles: Junior L. Samuel and Heyward Samuel both of Darlington, SC; a special friend of the home, Hilton Samuel, Jr.; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by a son, Shanard Williams.

Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the residence of a daughter and son-in-law, Monique and Dennis,  714 Oleander Drive, Darlington.
