Ms. Inez "Teeny" Ross-Jackson

It is with sorrow that the management and staff of Mitchell-Josey Funeral Home, Inc. announces the passing of Ms. Inez "Teeny" Ross Jackson of Columbia, SC.  Ms. Jackson expired on Sunday, September 26, 2021 at the residence.  

Celebration of Life will be 2:00PM on Saturday, October 2, 2021 at Mt. Zion Baptist Church Yard. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Please adhere to social distancing and mask wearing for this service.

"Life's Reflection"

Inez Jackson was born January 12, 1947 in Darlington, South Carolina to Mr. Leon and Mrs. Daisy M.
Cosom-Ross.  She was a graduate of Rosenwald High School in Society Hill, South Carolina.  Inez later moved to Englewood, New Jersey where she met and married the love of her life, Sidney L. Jackson Sr.  She worked for many years in manufacturing in Mahaw, New Jersey.  Together they raised two sons, Sidney L. Jackson Jr. of Columbia, SC, Darnell L. Jackson of Atlanta, GA.

Her interests included family and serving the Lord.  She devoted much of her time and energy to loving her family and service unto the Lord.  Inez was a faithful member of Mt. Olive Baptist church for over 30 years where she served as a member of the usher board and a choir member.

Inez “Teeny” Jackson is survived by her two sons:  Sidney L. Jackson Jr. and Darnell L. Jackson; seven grandchildren:  Siquan Jackson, Shamariah Jackson, Shanice Jackson, Sydney Jackson, Daiana L. Jackson, Darnell Jackson Jr., Dakota Jackson; three great grands:  Shamir Jackson, Sanai Jackson and Syrelle Jackson.  She extended her loving arms to her goddaughter, Malaika Ross of Englewood, NJ.

To cherish her memories are five brothers and nine sisters:  Mamie (late Leo Sr.) Williamson, Gloria (Streeter) McCoy, Leon (Beverly) Ross Jr., Maudey (Eugene) Evans, Patricia (George) Smith, Mary (Kenneth) Singletary, Dorothy (James) Brown, Rufus (Shirley) Ross, Nancy (Joel) Dargan, LeVern (Sarah) Ross, Lee Bell (Shirley) Ross, Daisy (Winfred) Tillman, Anthony (Terry) Ross and Frances Wingate. 

In-laws cherishing Inez’s memories include Alene (late Jeremiah) Jackson , Helen (Robert)Thompson, Cynthia (George) Faison, the late JoAnn (late Emmanuel ) Richardson, Lorretta (Marino) Blocker, Anthony Jackson,  Jeremiah (Orene) Jackson, Lavern (Herbert) West,  and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Our beloved mother, godmother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend was preceded in death by her parents Mr. Leon Ross Sr., Mrs. Daisy “Shug” Ross and her loving husband Sidney L. Jackson Sr.
