It Is with profound sorrow that the management and staff of Mitchell Josey Funeral Home, Inc. Announces the passing of Ms Geraldine Lunnon of Darlington. She died on Wednesday, July 29, 2020 in a Florence hospital.
Funeral service is 1:30 pm on Thursday, August 6, 2020 in Hart No. 2 Cemetery. Interment will follow. Please adhere to mask wearing and social distancing.

“God saw the road was getting rough, the hills too hard to climb; so he gently closed her loving eyes and whispered ‘Peace be thine’.”
Miss Geraldine Lunnon was born in Florence, South Carolina on December 6, 1939 a daughter of the late Beulah Lunnon Zimmerman. She entered into her final resting place on Wednesday, July 29, 2020 at McLeod Regional Medical Center in Florence, SC.
She received her formal education in the Darlington County Public School System. After the death of her mother she help rear her six younger siblings and they respected her as their “mother” figure.
She was a life member of Center Baptist Church where she served on the Gospel Choir, Senior Choir, Pastor’s Aide and Senior Missionary.
“Lean”, as she was affectionately called by family and friends, was a hard working woman who did a lot for other people. Whatever the need was she was there to help out any way she could. “Lean” would have the most wonderful garden every year and would share her bounty.
In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by a son, William Kevin Lunnon; her eight siblings.
Those left to cherish her memory are: her siblings: her sister, Daisy Zimmerman of Darlington, SC; three brothers: Willie (Christine) Zimmerman of Irmo, SC, Eddie Zimmerman of Hartsville, SC and Thomas “Tommy” Zimmerman of Lake City, SC; a sister-in-law, Vera Humbert of Darlington, SC; a host nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
