It is with sorrow that the management and staff of Mitchell-Josey Funeral Home, Inc. announces the passing on Ms. Edwina Simon of Darlington. Ms. Simon passed on Tuesday, August 18, 2020 in a Florence Hospital.

Funeral service is 11:00 AM on Sunday, August 23, 2020 in New Hopewell Baptist Church. Interment will follow. Please adhere to social distancing and mask wearing.

Evangelist Edwina Canova Simon was born in Darlington, South Carolina on October 10, 1960 a daughter of Judy Swinney Furlow and the late Lucius Simon, Jr. She heard the sound of heaven’s Angel sing as God granted her wings on Tuesday, August 18, 2020 at McLeod Regional Medical Center, Florence, SC.

Edwina loved her family and friends. She enjoyed many hobbies but most of all, she loved the Lord. For she was called to minister His word and became an ordained Evangelist in 1990.

She received her formal education in the Baltimore City School District, Baltimore, MD.

Edwina was a faithful employee at Can-Do-Oil Company of Baltimore, MD for 15 years until she decided to make a change and moved to Atlanta, GA. There, she faithfullywas employed at Sylvan Cleaners as a Manager until retiring after 15 years of service.

Survivors left to cherish her memory are: her loving mother, Judy Furlow of Darlington, SC; one brother, Tony Swinney of Baltimore, MD; three sisters: Belinda Simon, Rose B. Jones (Larry) both of Darlington, SC and Denise Simon of New Jersey; one nephew, Elliot (Tia) Simon of Baltimore, MD; two nieces: Colleen Jones and Cadasia Jones; a special grandniece, April Simon; other grandnephews and niece; a host of other relatives and friends.

Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the residence.
