It is with heartfelt sorrow that the management and staff of Mitchell-Josey Funeral Home, Inc. and members of the Johnson family share the passing of Ms. Deborah "Debra" Johnson of Darlington, South Carolina. Ms. Johnson passed on Thursday, March 10, 2022 in the Medical University Center, Florence Campus following an illness.
Celebration of Life will be 11:00AM on Saturday, March 19, 2022 in Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church. Interment will follow in Faith Memorial Gardens. Please adhere to mask wearing and social distancing for the service and burial.

Ms. Deborah Delores Johnson was born in Darlington, South Carolina on February 13, 1958, a daughter of the late Clayton Johnson, Sr. and Sarah Belle Mumford Johnson. She departed this earthly life on Thursday, March 10, 2022 at MUSC Health Florence Medical Center, Florence, SC.
At an early age, she was baptized at Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church.
Deborah received her formal education in the Darlington County Public Schools graduating from Mayo High School, Class of 1976. She furthered her education at Florence-Darlington Technical College where she received her Certification in Early Childhood Development.
Deborah was employed by the City of Darlington as a School Crossing Guard until her health declined. She loved spending time with family and friends but especially her baby, Jakorie Johnson, who she loved dearly.
Those left to cherish her memory are: her son, Jahmar Johnson of Denver, Colorado; a god-daughter, La’Sheia Patterson; three sisters: Mary L. Johnson Lide of Colorado, Brenda Johnson Newton and Eunice (Fredrick) Charles all of Darlington, SC; a brother-in-law, Robert Newton; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by two brothers: Clayton “Buddy” Johnson and Eugene “Geno” Johnson.
Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at 529 Mallard Duck Dr. Darlington, from 3:00PM to 8:00PM daily. Please wear a mask while visiting the residence.
