It is with heartfelt sympathy that Mitchell-Josey Funeral Home, Inc., and members of the Mouzon family announce the passing of Ms. Cynthia Louise Mouzon. Ms. Mouzon transitioned peacefully Sunday, October 20, 2024, at Medical University of South Carolina-Florence, after an illness.
The family will receive condolences and friends at the home, 123 Lands End Dr, Darlington, SC.
Public viewing will be 12-4 pm, Friday, October 25, 2024, at Mitchell-Josey Funeral Home, Inc.
Funeral service will be 11:00 AM Saturday, October 26, 2024, at Macedonia Baptist Church, 400 S. Main St, Darlington, SC. Interment will follow at Faith Memorial Gardens, Rogers Rd, Darlington, SC.
Obituary
Miss Cynthia Louise Mouzon was born on June 10, 1971, in Darlington, South Carolina. She is the daughter of Betty Mouzon Barr and the late Esom Barr. After suffering from an illness, she was called home on Sunday, October 20,2024.
“Cynt”/ “Cymp” as she was affectionately called, received her education from Darlington County Public School System.
Cynthia loved spending time with her family and friends. But especially with her children and grandchildren whether they were taking trips together or gathering for family functions. She would brag about them because she was so proud of them all.
Cynthia would spend summers with loved ones in Baltimore, MD. She later moved to Goldsboro, NC, in which she met her forever family, Annette Best, Maylene Cobb and Sandra Williams. Later, she returned home to Darlington, South Carolina where she worked at various plant jobs.
She became a member of Jerusalem Apostolic Church of Darlington, SC.
Cynthia was preceded in death by: her father, Esom Barr; great grandmother, Louise Hennix; her grandchildren: Tristian Brunson and Caprice Greene; her brother, Joe Ervin Mouzon; her sister Amanda Kaye Mouzon and a special friend, Cristine Brunson.
Those who survive to cherish her precious memories are: her mother, Betty Barr; her children: Brittiney Mouzon, James Mouzon both of Darlington, SC, Jamerson (Yvonne) Greene of Sumter, SC, Whittney (Marques) Brunson and J’Ana Mouzon of Darlington, SC; her two brothers: Michael (Tasha) Mouzon and Bernard Mouzon; her grandchildren: Kamiya Benbow, Mi’yanna Greene, Kimoni Nova Greene, Marqueta Brunson, Marques Brunson, Christian Brunson and Christianna Brunson; her sister at heart, Malinda Brunson-Pace; her nieces: Bridget Mouzon, Jaimie (George) Sims, Moesha Mouzon, Koniesha Mouzon Shy’Asia Mouzon; her nephews: Michael Mouzon Jr., TaeQuan (LaDonna) Mouzon, Terrell (Ariya) Mouzon, Zavion Mouzon, Jameir Mouzon; special friend, Thressa Alston; a host of aunts, uncles, grandnieces, grandnephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
