It is with heartfelt sorrow that the management and staff of Mitchell-Josey Funeral Home, Inc. and members of the Scipio and Bell families announce the passing of Ms. Brenda Ann Scipio of Darlington, South Carolina. Ms. Scipio exchanged time for eternity on Tuesday, April 09, 2024 at McLeod Regional Medical Center of the Pee Dee following an illness.
Funeral service will be held Friday, April 19th at 1:30 PM, Christ Temple Holiness Church, 101 Farm St, Darlington, SC. Interment will follow at Snow Hill Cemetery, 3602 Colonial Rd, Florence, SC.

Ms. Brenda Ann Scipio was born March 20, 1959, to the late Mr. Belin Scipio and the Mrs. Elease Coe Scipio in Darlington County. She departed this life peacefully and serenely on April 9, 2024 at McLeod Regional Medical Center, Florence, SC.
She received her formal education in the Darlington County Public Schools where she attended Mayo High School.
At an early age she joined Peaceful Missionary Baptist Church. Brenda Ann was employed as a direct health care person and served many families throughout Darlington County. She loved to interact with her family and friends; to know her was to love her. Brenda Ann shared her smile, her wisdom, her hugs and her friendship with everyone she met. She was compassionate, loyal and caring.
Those who shared the joys of life with her and left to cherish her memories are: three sons, Mr.Shavaris Scipio, Mr. Eric Bell and Mr. Derek Bell; Her Companion, Mr. Matthew Bell; her siblings, Evangelist Bernice (Broadus) Baccus, Mrs. Ella Mae Harrison, a special sister, Mrs. Mona Lisa (Norman) Kelly Scipio, Mr. Solomon (Evangelist Jessie) Hamilton, Jr., Mrs. Eva Mae Evans, Mrs. Blessie Lee Wilson, Mrs. Bessie (John) Newell and Mr. Roosevelt Scipio. Her legacy begets five grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, other cousins and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers: Mr. Timothy Scipio, Mr. Jerome Scipio, Reverand Larry Scipio and Mr. Woodrow Scipio.
Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the residence, 149 Kirven Street, Darlington.
