It is with sorrow that the management and staff of Mitchell-Josey Funeral Home, Inc. announces the passing of Ms. Addie Lee Richardson of Darlington. Ms. Richardson passed on Monday, August 16, 2021 in McLeod Hospice House following an illness. 

Funeral service is 11:00am on Sunday, August 22, 2021 in Hoodfield Cemetery, Abbott Road, Mechanicsville Community, Darlington. Interment will follow. 

Obituary

    Miss Addie Lee Richardson was born in Darlington, South Carolina on July 27, 1961 a daughter of Anna Bertha Addison Richardson and the late Heyward Richardson, Sr. She departed this life on Monday evening, August 16, 2021 at McLeod Hospice House in Florence, South Carolina. 

    She received her formal education in the Darlington County Public Schools graduating from Mayo High School Class of 1979. 

    Addie was a loving daughter, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She enjoyed cooking, singing, calling to check on her loved ones, smiling and Praising Jesus. Everyone would always say how she had the best hugs and always spoke about God. 

     She lived most of her life in Darlington working in customer service until her health declined. 

    Those left to cherish her memory are: her loving mother,Anna Bertha Richardson; three amazing children: MoreikRichardson, Amber Richardson both of Darlington, SC, and Tyshawn Williams (Ashley) of San Diego, California; two grandchildren: Noel Brown and Nasir Brown both of Darlington, SC; five sisters: Debbie Addison, Lutisha Richardson, Sarah King, Linda Richardson (Sam) Colclough and Barbara Richardson all of Darlington, SC; seven brothers: Herman Richardson (Cynthia) of Charlotte, NC, Edward Richardson (Denise) of Charlotte, NC, Ulysees Richardson(Azalee), Bernard Addison, Scott Berry, James Richardson all of Darlington, SC and Glenn Richardson of Louisiana. A host of family and friends from Darlington, SC to Philadelphia, PA. 

    She was preceded in death by: her father, Heyward Richardson; stepfather James “Chunk” Richardson; brother Heyward Cecil Richardson; sisters: Lucretia “Carey” Richardson and Carolyn Richardson Mack. 

Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at 242 Limit Street, Darlington.
