Obituary

“Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father’s house are many mansions: If it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you and I will come again and receive you unto myself, where I am there ye maybe also.”  John 14:1-3, KJV

On Wednesday, February 25, 2026, Mrs. Verma Lee Bostic was called to her heavenly home to be with God. "Verm," as she was affectionately called by many, was born on October 5, 1942, to the late Lincoln and Gladys Bishop Benjamin.

She received her formal education from Darlington County Schools.

At an early age, she gave her life to Christ was baptized to become a member of the now New Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church.

After graduating high school her dreams of becoming a nurse were put on hold in order to help take care of mothers and young siblings.

On January 4, 1969, she was united in holy matrimony to the late George Bostic III and of this union one son and two daughters were born. Later on as her children got older, she started working odd jobs in the domestic field. While doing this she went back to school and received her certification as a nurse assistant, which led her into private duty CNA. She love doing what she loved to do, taking care of others until her health started to decline in 2023.

Those left to cherish her memories are: three children: ScottyB. (Sarah) Bostic, Georgia Bostic and Theresa Bostic; six grandchildren:  Jahkeem A. Bostic, Ayrah J. Bostic, Olijah G. Bostic-Lunn, Nah’Kya O. Bostic-Lunn, Gregory Brown and Jeremiah Mickens; two great grandchildren: Harmonie Brown and Kennedy Hodge; sisters, Ruth A.
