With heartfelt sympathy, Mitchell-Josey Funeral Home, Inc., and members of the Bostic family announce the passing of Mrs. Verma Lee Bostic of Darlington, SC. Mrs. Bostic transitioned Wednesday, February 25, 2026, at McLeod Hospice House in Florence, SC.
The family will be receiving friends starting Wednesday, March 4th from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM daily at the home, 1117 Stevenson Dr, Florence, SC.
Public viewing will be 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM, Friday, March 6, 2026, at Mitchell-Josey Funeral Home, Inc., 612 S. Main St, Darlington, SC.
Funeral service will be held 11:00 AM, Saturday, March 7, 2026, at New Hopewell Baptist Church, 3500 New Hopewell Rd, Darlington, SC. Interment will be held 11:00 AM, Tuesday, March 10, 2026, at Florence National Cemetery, 803 E National Cemetery Rd, Florence, SC.

On Wednesday, February 25, 2026, Mrs. Verma Lee Bostic was called to her heavenly home to be with God. "Verm," as she was affectionately called by many, was born on October 5, 1942, to the late Lincoln and Gladys Bishop Benjamin.
She received her formal education from Darlington County Schools.
At an early age, she gave her life to Christ was baptized to become a member of the now New Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church.
After graduating high school her dreams of becoming a nurse were put on hold in order to help take care of mothers and young siblings.
On January 4, 1969, she was united in holy matrimony to the late George Bostic III and of this union one son and two daughters were born. Later on as her children got older, she started working odd jobs in the domestic field. While doing this she went back to school and received her certification as a nurse assistant, which led her into private duty CNA. She love doing what she loved to do, taking care of others until her health started to decline in 2023.
Those left to cherish her memories are: three children: ScottyB. (Sarah) Bostic, Georgia Bostic and Theresa Bostic; six grandchildren: Jahkeem A. Bostic, Ayrah J. Bostic, Olijah G. Bostic-Lunn, Nah’Kya O. Bostic-Lunn, Gregory Brown and Jeremiah Mickens; two great grandchildren: Harmonie Brown and Kennedy Hodge; sisters, Ruth A. Sparks (whom she helped raised), Lorraine Davis and Darlene (Danny) James; one brother-in-law, Alexander Bostic; sister-in-law, Lottie Bostic; special friend/cousins: Lizzie McCall, Christine English, Gracie Nelson and Bernice Robinson; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other family and friends.
“Verm” was preceded in death by her husband George Bostic III; her parents, Lincoln and Gladys Benjamin; sister, Hattie Perkins; and brother, Lincoln ”Pie” Benjamin.
