Auntie I am still in disbelief that you are not physically here with us anymore. God not only allowed you to be an active aunt in my life but also a grandmother figure. I told grandma all the time you and aunt Ruth got to share me and she would smile and say okay. You were the perfect aunt in my eyes the one who never told me no, kept snacks on top of the fridge and go around the corner and hand me some money and tell me to come back by after unk them left for work so that I have something to take for the kids. One thing you taught me was the importance of family, family is everything yeah no family is perfect but at the day we are supposed to stick together. I have many memories with you all that were good of course but within the last year I believe those were our best memories. You supported my brand whenever I was younger you supported in cookie sales and softball stuff but it was blessing to be able to say no Auntie you and Grandma got this one on the house. I never left y'all out on none of my merchandise . My goal is to continue making you proud and making sure the family straight. You have fulfilled your course my sweet lady God knocked and you answered, you've gained a new name, walk and talk. I'll forever love you !

May God who promises to carry all those who trust in Him give the children, grand & great grand children, sisters and brothers of Mrs. Ruby Hudson Poole "Blessed Assurance" of God's love for you all. She was a beautiful lady; she knew our mother; who passed away when we (4) of us were children. Whenever I would go through the lunch line at St. John's HS (1979-1982) she would "wink" her eye at me and I knew what that meant. She and Mrs. Clara would come by our Class of 1982 tent at Alumni Weekend and tell our classmate Bernard Robinson ( Mrs. Clara's son) tell Shelby(Laura W. O'Neal) daughter to fix 2 plates; 1 for her and 1 for her sister; and I knew what that meant. Sometimes when we talked she would tell me about my mother; She seemed to understand that I wanted anyone that could tell me about my mom did so; because in high school I was so unhappy, angry, and confused. I would be asking God "why did several families in the Mechanicsville community have to raise their grandchildren because our mother's died when we were children or babies. Didn't God know I always felt a void in life that is still there. Mrs. Ruby felt that and would tell me about my mom. To the Hudson/ Poole families; I thank God for Mrs. Ruby, God allowed me to meet her in 1979, in the cafeteria at SJH, she was feeding my physical through the work of her hands; but I had a greater need at that period in life. GOD had Mrs. Ruby there to feed my spirit with understanding; encouragement; memories of my mom and what my grandparents would always say "God makes no mistakes and Laura trust that God would take care of her children". SIPEACE, Mrs. Ruby and thank you, I love you. Rev. Evang. Shelby O'Neal Smith, Ella White Ross, Robert L. "Pete" Smith Jr. Joseph O'Neal Jr. & Bernard "Bernie" White.
