Mrs. Rosetta Harris Martin

It is with profound sorrow that the management and staff of Mitchell-Josey Funeral Home, Inc. announces the passing of Mrs. Rosetta Harris Martin of Florence, SC. Mrs. Martin transitioned on Thursday, February 13, 2020 at her residence. 

Funeral service will be 11:00 AM on Thursday, February 20, 2020 at Shiloh United Methodist Church, 3312 Lamar Hwy, Darlington.  Interment will be in the family cemetery, Martin-Ham Memorial Garden. 

~Obituary~

Mrs. Rosetta Harris Martin, age 68 of Florence, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Thursday, February 13, 2020 at her residence. She was born November 17, 1951 in Marion, South Carolina a daughter of the late Roosevelt Harris and Bessie White Harris.

Rosetta is predeceased by her late husband Obey E. Martin Sr. of 31 years.

Those left to cherish her memory are: children:  Obey Martin, Jr. (Cassandra Martin), Corenthious Martin (Samantha Hickman), Josepher Martin (Latoya Martin), Fentress Jones (Charles Jones), Melvin Johnson (Tracy Johnson). She has a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephew, other loving relatives and close friends.

Rosetta attended Bethel High School of Gresham, SC before attending Florence- Darlington Technical College. She worked as a Nurse’s Aide for over 32 years at Carolinas Hospital Systems, Florence, SC.

She was a member of Shiloh United Methodist Church where she served as United Methodist Women, Jubilee Choir, communion stewardess, treasurer, and other committees. 

Family and friends were Rosetta’s passion and delight. She always loved to help someone if they needed help. She was a kind and loving person always smiling.

The family wishes to thank Regency Hospice staff and all of those who cared for her during her last days especially her friend, Alvin Gause.

For those who have known Rosetta in her fruitful journey with us, her graveside service will be held at Martin-Ham Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be held daily from 1:00pm to 7:00pm at the residence, 2916 Liberty Drive, Florence, SC.
