With heartfelt sympathy, Mitchell-Josey Funeral Home and members of the Dixon and Jackson families announce the passing of Mrs. Pleasant Dixon Jackson of Richmond, VA, formerly of Society Hill, SC. Mrs. Jackson transitioned Monday, November 10, 2025, at Bon Secours Memorial Regional Medical Center in Mechanicsville, VA, after an illness.

Visitation for family and friends will be at residence of a brother, Alfred Dixon, 1441 Myrtlewood Dr, Darlington, SC.

There will be no public viewing.

A memorial service will be held 1:00 PM, Thursday, November 20, 2025, at Mt Rona Baptist Church, 245 Lumber Rd, Society Hill, SC.

Obituary

    Mrs. Pleasant Dixon Jackson was born May 11, 1953 in Darlington, South Carolina a daughter of the late Fred Dixon and Nancy Patterson Dixon.  She entered her final resting place Monday, November 10, 2025 at Bon Secours Memorial Regional Medical Center, Mechanicsville, VA.

     She attended the Darlington County Public School System where she attended Rosenwald High School, Society Hill, SC.  She received her GED at Florence-Darlington Technical School.

     At an early age, she became a member of Mt. Rona Baptist Church, Society Hill, SC.  

    Pleasant was married to Sylvester Jackson and to this union was born one daughter, Tammy Jackson.

    She was a joyful person who loved laughing and having fun with family and friends.

    Due to her health, her son, Tyrone, moved her to Richmond, VA to take better care of her.

    Those left to cherish her memories are:  her son, Tyrone (Beverly) Dixon; three sisters: Roena D. Dean of Kishma, Florida, Louvenia Goodson and Lillie M. (Jerome) Adams; two brothers: Alfred (Mattie) Dixon and Willie (Geraldine) Dixon all of Darlington, SC; two grandsons; six great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends.

    She was preceded in death by: a daughter, Tammy Jackson; three brothers: Arthur Dixon, Levern Black and Robert Dixon; a grandson, Tyrin Dixon and one granddaughter, Jessica Scott.
