Mrs. Mary Margaret Pough

It is with profound sorrow that the management and staff of Mitchell-Josey Funeral Home, Inc., and members of the Pough family announce the passing of Mrs. Mary Pough of Darlington, SC. Mrs. Pough exchanged time for eternity on Friday, January 17, 2025, at her home following an illness. 

Funeral services will be 11:00 am, Tuesday, January 21, 2025, at Shining Light Pentecostal Holiness Church, 432 Ruby St, Darlington, SC. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Pentecostal Holiness Church Cemetery, 161 Cedar Ridge Rd, Darlington, SC.

Obituary

     “I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith; Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.”                                                                                   II Timothy 4:7-8

     Mrs. Mary Margaret Pough was born in North Carolina on April 6, 1950. She entered into her final rest on Friday, January 17, 2025, at her residence after an illness.  

      She received her formal education in the public schools of North Carolina. Mrs. Pough was united in marriage to the late Arthur Pough.

      She lived most of her life in Darlington, SC. Mrs. Pough was a member of Mt. Calvary Pentecostal Holiness Church in Dovesville. She later became a member of Shining Light Pentecostal Holiness Church under the leadership of Pastor Janie Wilds where she served as an Usher. She truly loved the Lord and her church family.

     Those left to cherish her memory are: a nephew who was raised as a son, Jemmerio Chappell of the home; other nieces and nephews; several brothers and sisters-in-law: John (Michele) Pough, James Pough, Bobby Pough, Karla Williams, Andrena Henderson, Linda Ann Henderson, Beverly (Oconel) Johnson and Michael (Marie) Mack; her caregiver, Patricia “Lisa” Love; other relatives and friends.
