It is with deepest sympathy that the management and staff of Mitchell-Josey Funeral Home, Inc. announces the passing of Mrs. Margaret Jones Grant of Florence, SC. Mrs. Grant transitioned on Tuesday evening, August 11, 2020 in a Florence hospital.
Funeral service will be 2:00PM on Sunday, August 16, 2020 in Impact Church of The Nazarene, 2812 West Palmetto Street, Florence. Interment will follow in the Palmetto Baptist Church Cemetery. Please adhere to social distancing and mask wearing. The church will accommodate 50 or less individuals.

Mrs. Margaret Jones Grant was born May 15, 1936 to Rena Jones Charles. Margaret was a native of Darlington, South Carolina. She attended Darlington County Public
Schools. Margaret entered her entered her eternal rest on Tuesday, August 11, at a local Florence Hospital. Margaret was member of Palmetto Baptist Church in Darlington, South Carolina.
She was preceded in death by: husband, Reverend David Grant, Sr.; a son, David Grant, Jr.; two daughters, Joann Grant and Mary Ann Grant Thornton. She was a “gourmet cook and homemaker”. If you knew Margaret, she always loved taking care of her family.
She leaves to cherish her loving memories: a daughter, Diana Grant Nettles of Columbia, SC; a sister she raised as her own, Carrie Ann Jones of Florence, SC; one
special brother, Richard Jones of Darlington, SC; a granddaughter raised as her own, Demica R. Grant of the home; grandchildren: Antoinette (Adeira) Black of Columbia, SC, Quanshay (Brandon) Rush of Darlington, SC and David Grant, III, Florence, SC; great grandchildren: Jashaun Grant, Jajuan Grant, Amariya Grant, Jaquavious Grant, Braxton Black and Charles Black; special nephews: Antonio Jones and Marcus Jones,
Sr.; a host of other nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the residence, 2913 Battery Park Drive, Florence.
