Mrs. Louise "Sister" Williamson Obituary

It is with heartfelt sorrow that the management and staff of Mitchell-Josey Funeral Home, Inc. and members of the Williamson family announces the peaceful transition of Mrs. Louise Williamson. "Sister" as she was affectionately called exchanged time for eternal with her family by her side on Monday afternoon, December 05, 2022 at her residence. 

Celebration of Life will be 1:00PM on Sunday, December 11, 2022 in Flat Creek Missionary Baptist Church. Interment will follow. 

Obituary

      Mrs. Louise “Sister” Williamson was born April 3, 1934 in Darlington, SC a daughter of the late Ervin and Nancy Wilds Williamson.  She entered into her final resting place on Monday, December 5, 2022 at her residence.

    She received her formal education in the Darlington County Public Schools where she attended Round O School.

     At an early age, she was a member of Round O Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend George Shuler; where she served on the Usher Board

    Louise was united in marriage to the late Jimmy Williamson and to this union a daughter, Nancy, was born.

    She was employed at Geneva Wright’s Café as the head cook.  

     In 1966, Louise moved to Brooklyn, NY; there, she work various jobs. In 1994, Louise returned back home to Darlington, SC.

     “Sister, as she was affectionately called by family and friends, was a very nice and generous person.  She was a sweet person to her family, especially to her grandchildren.

     Those left to cherish her memory are:  her daughter, Nancy Williamson of the home; a grandson, Michael Williamson; two great grant children: Davonte McKay and Kensley Williamson; three brothers: Willie James (Pastor Annie Lou) Williamson of Darlington, SC, Ervin (Betty) Williamson of Winston-Salem, NC and Williams Clemons of Hartsville, SC; ; two brothers-in-law: Solomon James (Lee) Williamson, Sr. and Walter (Lizzie) Williamson; four sisters-in-law: Lottie (Robert deceased) Tedder, Lugenia (Charles) Timmons, Lucy (Arthur deceased) Williams and Dorothy Coleman; her five god-children: Hannah Green, Maze Littles, Sr., Sherman Covington, Willie Dixon and Mary Ann Hunter; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

     She was preceded in death by: her parents, Ervin and Nancy Williamson; her husband, Jimmy Williamson; a granddaughter, Redel Williamson; her sisters: Jessie Mae Williamson, Sally Williamson, Virginia Williamson and Hattie Mae Gardner; her brothers: John Williamson, Wilbur Williamson, Romeo Williamson, Eugene Williamson and Arthur Williams.

Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the residence, 1440 Mechanicsville Hwy, Darlington.
