Mrs. Louise “Hun” DuBose Curtis

It is with heartfelt condolences that the management and staff of Mitchell-Josey Funeral Home, Inc. announces the passing of Mrs. Louise “Hun” DuBose Curtis of Darlington. Mrs. Curtis transitioned on Monday evening, June 28, 2021 at Oakhaven Nursing Facility following an extended illness. 

Funeral service is 11:00am on Saturday, July 3, 2021 in Shiloh United Methodist Church Cemetery. Interment will follow. Please adhere to social distancing while attending this service. 

Obituary

     Mrs. Louise Dubose Curtis was born August 20, 1937 a daughter of the late Evans Dubose, Sr. and Rachel Dubose.  She entered into her final resting home on Monday, June 28, 2021 at Oakhaven Nursing Home, Darlington, SC.
     She received her formal education in the Darlington County Public School System.
     Louise was a devoted member of Shiloh United Methodist Church where she was a member of the Senior Choir and served in other capacities as needed.  She was an extremely loving, kind and caring person to all who knew and loved her.  She loved everyone, especially her family and friends. Louise would help anyone she could.
     She retired after working many years with the Willis Family and their children.  
    Louise was united in marriage for 67 years to the late Robert "Sonny" Curtis.  She was an extremely devoted wife and caretaker for him.
     Those left to cherish her memory are:  her children: Mary Ann Pritchett of Baltimore, MD, Rosezenia  (Ron) Johnson of Panama City, FL, Vivian (Johnny) Stephen, Robin Curtis-Moses both of Darlington, SC, Patrick (Hattie) Robinson of Cleveland, OH, Bertha Spates of Columbia, SC, Arlena (Tyrone) Singletary and Cecil Gardner of Florence, SC; her siblings: Mr. Evans Dubose, Jr., Irene Brown both of Darlington, SC, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Dubose of New Jersey; her sisters-in-law: Eletha Weekes and Janie Thompson both of New York City, NY; her brother-in-law, Levern Curtis of Darlington, SC; a host of grandchildren; great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
     She was preceded in death  by her husband, Robert Curtis; three sisters: Irola D. Wilson, Elease Wilson and Alice D. Hunter; six brothers: Jessie Dubose, T. Dubose, S. B. Dubose, Major Dubose, Hattie Dubose, Sr. and Bernest Dubose.
