"The Obituary"

Lisa Renee Alford was born on January 22, 1963 in Savannah, Georgia to the late Willie and Birdie Mae Grice. She peacefully departed this earthly journey on Saturday, June 12, 2021 with family by her side.

Lisa was educated in the public schools of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where she graduated from William Penn High School. After high school, she was employed as a nursing assistant for many years. In 2007, Lisa and her family relocated to Darlington, South Carolina. She became employed by McLeod Regional Medical Center, where she received the Merit McLeod Award in 2018. Lisa was a member of New Life Church of Our Lord Jesus, Inc. in Florence, South Carolina.

In 1994, Lisa was united in Holy Matrimony to James Alford. They were happily married for twenty-seven years, but built over thirty years of memories. Together they shared three daughters, Nyeesha, Teressa, and Theresa.

Lisa was a very special person to so many. Her heart was filled with so much love and care for everyone, especially her family. She had a gentle spirit of giving to others and never would turn down an opportunity to help. She had a strong work ethic and never sat still. Her infectious laugh and smile will live on forever in our hearts.

In addition to her parents, Lisa was preceded in death by her brother, Otis Perkins.

Lisa leaves to cherish fond and precious memories to her devoted husband, James Alford; loving daughters, Nyeesha R. Alford, Teressa N. Alford, and Theresa N. Alford; stepson, James Walton; brothers-in-law, William (Eva Mae) Alford, Roosevelt Alford and Leo (Anita) Josey; sisters-in-law, Lelia Williamson, Betty (Henry) Graham, Janet Alford Moore, Evelyn (Thomas) Robinson, Connie (Marvin) Richards, Dorothy Benjamin, Lillian (Wendell) Dixon, Mary Lee, Sue Alford, Paula Alford, and Mattie Perkins; special nieces, Sandra (Derek) Perkins-Butts; Maria (David) Perkins-Hicks, Kiara Perkins-Collier, and Shan Alford; step grandson, Antoine Perkins; and a host of nieces, nephews, other loving relatives and friends whom all will miss her dearly.

Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the residence, 1641 Elissa Drive, Darlington.
