Obituary

Linda Cromie Josey was born on August 9, 1953 in Columbia, SC. She was the daughter of the late Elias (Kate Roceda) Poole and Dora (Albert) McFarland Cromie. She went home to be with the Lord Monday, December 1, 2025 at Prisma Health Richland Hospital, Columbia, SC.

Linda graduated from Thomasville High School in 1971. She was united in marriage to Levern Josey and to this union LaDara Josey Depugh was born. Linda worked at Pratt Whitney after moving to Connecticut. She was a diligent and dedicated employee while working there and later in NC and SC. She later moved to Pennsylvania in 1999 to seek better employment opportunities as a health care aid and that’s where she came to know her Jesus as her Lord and Savior. Linda’s transformation into a true Woman of God began and continued until she left her earthly home. She was a faithful member of Tabernacle Harvest Church in Pottstown, PA. She worked as a greeter and was active in the Nursing Home Ministry. After a rewarding career in healthcare, she retired and moved back home to SC in 2017.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Willie White and Nathaniel White, a niece Denise Cockrane.

Linda leaves to cherish her precious memories:  her loving daughter, LaDara Josey Depugh, and son-in-love, Melvin Depugh; her sisters: Mary Alford Knotts “Sweetie”, Deloris (Hector) Tijerina; Henrietta Hickman; sisters-in-love: Connie Jackson, Laura Tye and Agnes Henderson; niece, Vitina Cockrane; eight great-grandchildren, special great grand, JaQuisha “Trezure” Huggins; a host of cousins: (Kings, Charles, Richardsons and Lees); adopted daughter, Sharon Rouse; her Angel Judy; the entire Alford/Josey family; a host of other relatives and friends.

She loved the Lord, was always positive and encouraging to family, friends and anyone she would meet.
