It is with heartfelt sorrow that the management and staff of Mitchell-Josey Funeral Home, Inc. announces the passing of Mrs Laurie Bailey-Coe of Darlington. Mrs. Coe transitioned on Friday evening, November 13, 2020 in a Florence hospital.
Funeral service is 2:30pm on Saturday, November 21, 2020 in Darlington Memory Gardens (Hwy 151), Darlington, SC. Interment will follow.
Obituary
Mrs. Laurie Ann Bailey-Coe (a.k.a. Tootie) was born in Hartsville, South Carolina of Darlington County on June 11, 1970, the daughter of Mr. James E. Bailey and Mrs. Patricia Ann Hudson Bailey. She entered into her eternal rest on Friday, November 13, 2020 at McLeod Regional Medical Center, Florence, SC.
She received her education in Darlington County Public Schools and graduated from St. John High School, Class of 1988. Laurie received her Associate Degree as a Paralegal at Florence-Darlington Technical College, Florence, SC. She was a loyal member of Peaceful Baptist Church, Timmonsville, SC and was employed at GE Healthcare, Florence, SC. In her spare time, she was an “avid couponer,” and enjoyed spending quality time with her husband.
On May 9, 2015, she was united in marriage to Mr. Michael A. Coe. Laurie was a loving wife, daughter, sister and aunt.
Survivors left to cherish her fond memories are her loving husband, Michael A. Coe of the home; her parents, James E. & Patricia Ann Bailey of Darlington, SC; two sisters, Sherrie L. Bailey of Darlington, SC and Yvonne Bailey Pinckney of Columbia, SC; two brothers, Andre L. Bailey and Anthony D. Bailey both of Darlington, SC; mother-in-law, Min. Queen E. Coe and father-in-law, Leverne Coe both of Darlington, SC; one sister-in-law, Dorlisa (Shawn) Damon of Rock Hill, SC; two nieces, Daijah T. Pinckney and Anya Damon; three nephews, Dorian Pinckney, Aden Damon and Ethan Damon; aunt and uncle, Mr. & Mrs. Marion Lide Bailey of Hartsville, SC; cousin and special friend, Cherry Bailey; and a host of other relatives and friends.
She is the granddaughter of the late Mr. Edmund & Mrs. Ada Bailey, and Mr. Hallie & Mrs. Bernetha Johnson Hudson.

Due to Covid-19 Pandemic, the Bailey-Coe Family is having a card drop-off/drive by on Friday, November 20, 2020 from 3:00 to 8:00pm at the residence, 4843 West Paces Trail Drive (off Hoffmeyer Road), Darlington.
There will be no wake service for Mrs. Laurie Bailey-Coe.
