Reflections of Life
“And I said, oh that I had wings like a dove, for then would I fly away and be at rest.” Psalm 55:6
Gloria Lorraine Jett Little was born August 29, 1941, to the late James and Mable Poole Jett. She was a graduate of Mayo High School, Class of 1959. At an early age, she was baptized and joined the Round O Missionary Baptist Church where she was a member of the Gospel Choir and served in many other capacities. After graduating from Mayo High School (Golden Bears), she began her employment career with Nytronics, Inc., of Darlington, SC. She worked there for many years as a dedicated employee. Her career pursuits led her to Connecticut where she was employed with Pratt and Whitney Aerospace Manufacturing Company in North Haven, Connecticut. After returning back to South Carolina, Gloria had a full career and retired from Georgia Pacific formerly known as Dixie Cup, Inc. of Darlington, SC with 31 years of service.
She was married to the love of her life, Maze Little, Sr. for fifty-three beautiful years. To this union God blessed them with two wonderful sons; Corinthian (Rin) and Maze, Jr. In addition to being a dedicated worker, an adoring wife, a committed mother, a loving sister, a compassionate grandmother, she was a devoted church member. After holy matrimony to Maze, she joined the Flat Creek Missionary Baptist Church, where she served the Lord as the President of Ushers Ministry, Secretary of the Pastor’s Aide Ministry, and a member of the Missionary Ministry. She served as the Ushers Ministry President for more than 20 years. She took her service to the Lord very seriously. When Gloria was not working at Georgia Pacific, you could find her doing what brought joy to her – serving others.
To know her was to love her because she exemplified humility in all aspects of life. Her warm heart and beautiful smile gained her much respect from her family and peers. She definitely demonstrated James 1:19, “Let everyone be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to become angry.” She was so calm and so pleasant there was no reason not to love her.
On December 27, 2023, God saw fit to give Gloria a smooth heavenly transition into her eternal rest. Words are inadequate to express the joy she bought to everyone she met. Her quiet, sweet spirit spoke volumes as a testament to her character.
Gloria Lorraine Jett Little leaves to celebrate her life and legacy: her loving husband, Maze Little, Sr., children, Corinthian (Shynise) Little, Sr. of Florence, SC, and Maze (Elizabeth) Little, Jr. of Florence, SC. One brother, Willard (Barbara) Jett of Timmonsville, SC and one sister, Gwendolyn (Jack) Gattison of Darlington, SC. Sisters-in-laws: Bertha Jett of Darlington, SC., Johnny Little Dudley of Darlington, Delois Little Johnson of Geneseo, NY., and Josephine (Don) Holly of Ithaca, NY. Brothers-in-laws: Major (Minnie) Little of Bronx, NY, Tommy (Evelyn) Little of Philadelphia, PA, Alphonso Little of Darlington, SC, J.B. (Marcia) Little of Florence, SC, and Freddie (Elizabeth) Little of Darlington, SC.

She was preceded in death by her parents: James Sr. and Mable Poole Jett; one brother, James Milton Jett, Jr.; three sisters: Eunice Sims, Minnie Louise Benjamin, and Vermella Jett Antrum.
“Strength and honor are her clothing; and she shall rejoice in time to come. She opens her mouth with wisdom; and in her tongue is the law of kindness. She looks well to the ways of her household and eats not the bread of idleness. Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her. Many daughters have done virtuously, but thou excel them all.” Proverbs 31:25-29
Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the residence 1616 Indigo Drive, Darlington.
