Obituary

Mrs. Fannie Mae McCoy was born October 3, 1941 in Darlington, SC, a daughter of the late Alice McCutcheon. She departed this life on Wednesday, June 19, 2024, at McLeod Regional Medical Center, Florence, SC.

She attended Darlington County Public Schools and was employed as a Housekeeper, Housewife, and Caregiver.

She was united in marriage to the late Willie McCoy and they opened their home to any and everyone. She was referred to some as Mother Teresa because she reared many children besides her own.

At an early age, she grew up in New Bethel Baptist Church where she was a member of the Gospel Choir.  She later became a member of Bethany Baptist Church for many years where she served on the Auxiliary Boards and Choir. She also was a member of Image of Christ in Lamar. After her health declined, she attended Outreach Community Church along with Jackie Gilmore and enjoyed her time there. Fannie was blessed to serve under some great men and women of God. Her favorite songs were, “Packing Up” and “This Morning When I Rose.”
