Mrs. Connie Richardson Frierson

It is with sorrow that the management and staff of Mitchell-Josey Funeral Home, Inc. announces the passing of Mrs. Connie Richardson Frierson of Darlington. Mrs. Frierson passed on Wednesday, February 03, 2021 at her residence. 

Funeral service is 2:00PM on Monday, February 8, 2021 in Round O Baptist Church Cemetery. Interment will follow. 

Obituary

Mrs. Connie Richardson Frierson was born in Bishopville, South Carolina on September 12, 1942, the daughter of the late Willie and Calperta Richardson.  She entered into her final resting place on Wednesday, February 3, 2021 at her home surrounded by her family.  

    She received her formal education in Darlington County Public School System, graduating from Rosenwald High School, class of 1961.

    At an early age, “Tommie” joined Round O Missionary Baptist Church and later Mt. Zion Tabernacle Baptist Church and worshipped there until her heath begin to decline. 

    “Tommie” was employed at Saleeby Center of Hartsville, South Carolina for 21 years. 

    Those left to cherish her memory: her loving husband of thirty-seven years, Cleveland Frierson of the home; her daughter, Veronica Richardson of Darlington; a step-daughter, Tiffany Frierson of NC; three grandchildren: Chiquita Fox of Darlington, SC, Monique Fox of Charlotte, NC, and Kendrick Richardson of Darlington, SC; three great grandchildren: Jayshawn Johnson, Kendrick Owens, Jr, and Anastasia Walden; her siblings: James (Joyce) Richardson, Lillian McClain, Shirley (George) Taylor, Dorothy Coleman, all of Darlington, SC; four sisters-in-law: Ravenell Davis, Marjorie Wright, both of Darlington, SC, Louise Frierson of Florence, SC, and Peggy Frierson of Conway, SC; three brothers-in-law: Calvin Frierson, Zachriah Frierson, both of Darlington, SC, and Isiah Frierson of Conway, SC; a son-in-law, Joey Perkins of Connecticut; two special sons: Cornell Curry of Pennsylvania and Ronnie Richardson, Jr. of Dillon, SC; a special niece, Margie Isaac of Darlington, SC; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. 

     She was preceded in death by her parents, her siblings: Annie Jones, Willie Richardson, Jr., Voncille McPhail and Jerry Richardson. 

Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the residence, 109 Timber Drive (Pepper Ridge), Darlington.
