With heartfelt sympathy, the management and staff of Mitchell-Josey Funeral Home, Inc., and members of the Dargan family announce the passing of Mrs. Annie Bell Dargan of Darlington, SC. Mrs. Dargan transitioned Monday, June 16, 2025, at McLeod Regional Medical Center in Florence, SC following a sudden illness.
Visitation with family and friends will be held at the residence, 415 N. Main Street, Apartment #7B, Darlington, SC.
Public viewing will be held 12:00 PM - 6:00 PM, Friday, June 20, 2025, at Mitchell-Josey Funeral Home, Inc., 612 S Main St, Darlington, SC.
Funeral service will be 1:00 PM, Saturday, June 21, 2025, at Mt Zion Baptist Church, 3208 N Governor Williams Hwy, Darlington, SC. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

“For now, I am ready to be offered and the time of my departure is at hand.

Mrs. Annie Bell Dargan was born April 8, 1950, in Darlington County, SC, the daughter of Sarah L. Williams and Junior Lee Williams. She departed this life on Monday, June 16, 2025, at McLeod Regional Medical Center in Florence, SC, after a short illness.
She received her formal education in the Darlington County Public School System and was employed at St. John Elementary School in the cafeteria (cook) and at Bethea Retirement Home.
At an early age, she was united in marriage to L.T. Dargan. She later joined Mt. Zion Baptist Church where she joined the Celestial choir and served as a Deaconess.
“Bell,” as she was affectionately called, was bright beyond her years. She was the life of the party. She loved everybody, and she took care of everybody. She was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, family member, and friend.
She was predeceased by her parents, her husband L.T. Dargan, and one grandson, Adarius Wayne Dargan.
Those who have survived to cherish her memory include, one daughter: Cathy Dargan, two sons: Elliott W. Dargan and Jonathan (Tabitha) Dargan; three adopted daughters: Sharon (Vic) Newton, Debra (Craig) McKay, Cynthia (Sgt Ronald) Eaddy; three special grandchildren: Ariana “Pooh” Green, Jonathan “Boopy” Dargan, Joshua Pierce; 17 grandchildren; 16 great- grandchildren; two sisters: Denise “Weezy” Foster of Darlington, SC, and Deloris Ann Denson of Patterson, NJ; one brother, Robert Lee Williams of Savannah, GA; 6 sisters-in-law; 6- brothers-in-law; two special nephews: James “Jimmy” Dargan and Kelvin Williams; one special niece: Valerie “Sue” Pinckney; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
