It is with sorrow that the management and staff of Mitchell-Josey Funeral Home, Inc. announces the passing of Mrs. Alice “Ninny” Johnson Davis of Darlington. Mrs. Davis expired early Monday morning, June 8, 2020 at her residence.
The family of Mrs. Alice Davis in consideration of the current health crisis facing our world, nation, state and local community, would love to be surrounded by your presence. They acknowledge the health risks to family, church members, friends, and particularly to those who are most vulnerable to this disease, the elderly and those with chronic health conditions and ask that those who attend the service ensure you are wearing BOTH MASKS AND GLOVES and practice social distancing. During this time, the family needs mostly your prayers and understanding. Thank you for your concern and cooperation.
Funeral service will be 3:00pm on Saturday, June 13, 2020 at Hart Cemetery #2. Interment will follow.

Mrs. Alice “Ninny Johnson” Davis was born December 25, 1954 in Darlington, South Carolina a daughter of the late Leroy Johnson and Lillie Mae Hickman Johnson. She peacefully entered into her final resting place on Monday, June 8, 2020 at her residence.
Mrs. Davis was educated in the Darlington County Public Schools System.
She was employed at Craig’s Sewing Factory in Lamar, South Carolina.
Alice was a loving, praying and caring person where her children and grandchildren survived through a lot of her prayers. She was the backbone of her family. She will be dearly missed and loved by all who knew her.
Survivors left to cherish her memory are: her husband, Eddie Davis; her three daughters: Londell (William) Johnson, Kathlean Waiters and Suwanda (Travis) Waiters; one sister, Edell (Albert) Johnson; one brother, Luther (Ruthann) Johnson; a half-sister, Irene Woods; a half-brother, Benny Byrd; a very special first grandson, Eugene Johnson. She loved all her grandchildren unconditionally but it was just a different bond they had. A host of grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held at the residence of a daughter, SuWanda Waiters, 1861 Yule Pines Lane, Hartsville, SC.
