Mr. Willie "Stanley" Jeffery

It is with sorrow that the management and staff of Mitchell-Josey Funeral Home, Inc. announces the passing of Mr. Willie Jeffery of Gastonia, NC, formally of Darlington, SC. Mr. Jeffery passed on Tuesday night, February 21, 2022 in Gastonia, NC following an illness. 

Funeral service is 4:00PM on Saturday, February 25, 2023 in Chapel of Mitchell-Josey Funeral Home, Inc.  Interment will follow in Hart No. 2 Cemetery. 

    “God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change; the courage to change the things I can and the wisdom to know the difference.” 

     Mr. Willie “Stanley” Jeffery was born in Darlington County, South Carolina on July 30, 1951 a son of the late Gladys Jeffery.  He entered into his eternal rest on Tuesday, February 21, 2023 at the residence of his daughter in Gastonia, NC.

     He received his formal education in the Darlington County Public Schools where he attended Spaulding High School, Lamar, SC. Willie  worked as a brink mason and held a number of other jobs.

     He was preceded in death by his mother, Gladys Jeffery; a sister, Rena Bell Jeffery and a nephew, Bernard Jeffery.

    Those left to cherish his memory are:  his children: Rosemary (Tyrone) Rouse of Gastonia, NC and Willie (Alicia) Green of Darlington, SC; a lifelong friend, Betty Green Ham of Darlington, SC; seven siblings:  Robert Jeffery, Jimmy (Sandra) Jeffery both of Thomasville, NC, Randy Jeffer of Sumter, SC, Patricia (Leroy) Reed of Hartsville, SC, Mamie (Jerry) Williams of Columbia, SC, Wendi Lee Jeffery of Lamar, SC and Jacqueline Jeffery of Darlington, SC; seven grandchildren; six great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends who regrets his passing.

   He was known for letting us know …. “I’m Okay, I’ll be Alright.”

Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the residence of a son, Mr. Willie “Peanut” Green, 817 Royce Road, Darlington.
