It is with profound sorrow that the management and staff of Mitchell-Josey Funeral Home, Inc. announces the passing of Mr. Thomas “Tom” Squire of Society Hill, SC. Mr. Squire passed on Tuesday, August 1, 2023 at McLeod Regional Medical Center following an illness.
Funeral service is 2:00pm on Tuesday, August 8, 2023 at Bethesda Baptist Church.

Mr. Thomas Ervin Squire was born on October 14, 1954, a son of the late Mr. John and Hattie Williams Squire in Society Hill, South Carolina. Thomas peacefully transitioned on Tuesday, August 1, 2023 at McLeod Regional Medical Center following an illness.
He received his formal education at Rosenwald High School in Society Hill, SC and worked as a carpenter in his early work career.
Tom will be missed by those who knew and loved him. He was preceded in death by: his parents, Mr. John and Hattie Williams Squire; two brothers, James Squire and Joseph Squire.
Those who shared the joys of life with him and survive to cherish the memories of Mr. Thomas “Tom” Squire are: his children, Emmanual “Ernie” (Kenyonna) Floyd of Cheraw, SC, Yolanda Love of Bishopville, SC, and Apollonia Love of Raleigh, NC; granddaughter, Kapricia Floyd of Cheraw, SC; great-grandsons: Ky’rie Mebane and Ky’lan Mebane; brother, Jimmy (Geraldine) Squire of Brooklyn, NY; sisters: Mary (Joseph) Charles of Darlington, SC, Catherine (George Cordan) Squire and Margaret Squire both of Brooklyn, NY, and Ann (Anselmo) Lopez of Waterbury, CT; aunts: Doretha Williams Benjamin of Dovesville, SC, Shirley Williams Redfern and Roberta Williams Ludd both of Society Hill, SC; a host of nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends who mourn his passing.
Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at 841 Swett Road, Society Hill, SC.
