Obituary

“There comes a time in everyone’s life when they must leave the ones they love and are loved by....”

Mr. Teddie Gandy was born in Darlington County on July 28, 1953, a surviving twin son of the late Henry Gandy, Jr.  and Janie Mae Edwards Gandy.   Teddie gained his heavenly wings on April 12, 2021.

He received his formal education in the Darlington County Public School System and was a graduate of Mayo High School of 1971.    After graduation, he lived in Columbia, SC for many years and retired from a career he loved from the  State of South Carolina (Midlands Center).  After he retired, he lived in Charlotte, NC and later moved back to Darlington.

He established his religious foundation and connection under the direction of Reverend Owen Powell, Pastor of Lee Street Church of God and knew the Lord.

Teddie was an avid sports fan and knew and catalogued stats for teams; a great artist and he loved to keep you entertained from days gone by.  Always fiercely devoted and protective of his loved ones.  He will be dearly missed.

Survivors left to cherish his loving memories are:  his loving siblings:  Larry (Gloria)  Gandy of Darlington, SC  and Janice (Larry) Preston-Dixon of Charlotte, NC; a special sister, Deloris (Ralph) Dixon of  Florence, SC; nieces:  Livanga Gandy Hines of Charlotte, NC, Ericka (Tallen) Shields of Charlotte, NC;  Amber (George) Gray and Jhameka Johnson both of Darlington, SC; nephews:  Nahshonn Hudson, Nickolas Hudson both of Charlotte, NC, Braxdton NoHeart of Charlotte, NC and Christopher Jackson of Chicago, Il.; a host of grandnieces and nephews who he loved with such great devotion and pride; a special  devoted friend Bertha Shaw.
