Obituary

With loving hearts, we celebrate the life of Sammy Lee Broadnax, who was born on August 17, 1962, in Darlington, South Carolina, to the late Samuel and Maybell Broadnax. He departed this life leaving behind a legacy of love, resilience, and cherished memories that will forever live in the hearts of those who knew him.

Sammy who was affectionately nicknamed "Frog" was educated in the public schools of Darlington County, where he attended J.L. Cain Elementary School, Pine Middle School, and Mayo High School. Throughout his life, he walked his own path, guided by a quiet strength and a gentle spirit.

He was preceded in death by his loving parents Mr. & Mrs. Samuel (Maybell) Broadnax, his beloved brother, Mr. John Henry Brockington, and his dear sisters, Mrs. Judy M. Broadnax White and Mrs. Queen Ester Thompson.

Sammy leaves to cherish his memory his loving family: his devoted sisters, Mrs. Ethel (Rodney) Brockington of Hartsville, South Carolina, and Ms. Bernice Broadnax; his caring brothers, Mr. James Coe of Darlington, South Carolina, Mr. Jean Allen Brockington of Newark, New Jersey and a brother-in-law Mr. Willie James Thompson; along with a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who loved him deeply.

Sammy was a kind, sweet soul whose presence brought warmth to those around him. He lived life in his own way, yet he always remained connected to his family, whom he loved and who loved him dearly. Despite life's challenges, he showed quiet resilience and an enduring spirit. He worked when he was able and found his own sense of peace along his journey.

Though he was never married nor had children of his own, Sammy's life was enriched by the love of his family and those close to him. He was surrounded by family and embraced by a community that will forever hold him close in their hearts.

Sammy will be remembered for his gentle nature, his independence, and the love he gave so freely. Though he is no longer with us, his memory will continue to shine brightly in the lives of all who were blessed to know him.

Please continue to keep the family and friends of Mr. Sammy Lee “Frog” Broadnax in your thoughts and prayers.
