It is with heartfelt sorrow that the management and staff of Mitchell-Josey Funeral Home, Inc. and members of the Jones' family share the passing of Mr. Sammie Jones of Darlington. Mr. Jones passed on Monday evening, March 21, 2022 in McLeod Hospice House following an illness.
Funeral service is 12 Noon on Saturday, March 26, 2022 in Round O Baptist Church Cemetery. Interment will follow. Please adhere to social distancing and mask wearing for this service.

Mr. Sammie Jones was born in Darlington, South Carolina on February 12, 1953, a son of the late Mable Jones and Finnie Robinson. He departed this life on Monday, March 21, 2022 in McLeod Hospice House, Florence, SC.
He received his formal education in the Darlington County Public School graduating from Rosenwald High School, Class of 1972.
He was united in marriage to the late Gloria Williamson Jones and to this union two children were born.
Sammie was a self-employed/owner operator of Jones Trucking Company as a truck driver until he retired. Later he was employed at Northside Timber and Lumber, Darlington where he was a truck driver.
Sammie loved riding his four-wheeler, going horseback riding and most of his family. He was a hard worker who would give his last to his family and close friends. He always kept a smile on his face. To know him was to love him. He will be dearly missed.
Those left to cherish his memory are: two children: Ronnie Sentell Jones of Darlington, SC, Laquana Jones of Charlotte, NC; nine grandchildren; three sisters: Helen Ham, Aileen (Larry) Pauley and Roberta Jones Young all of Darlington, SC; a host of sisters and brothers-in-law; several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by: his siblings: Rosette Bluefort and Claude Jones.
The family has requested no visitation, but solicit your kind thoughts and prayers.
