It is with heartfelt sorrow that the management and staff of Mitchell-Josey Funeral Home, Inc. announces the passing of Mr. Quentin "Hank" Bess of Lamar, SC.  Mr. Bess transitioned on Saturday, August 3, 2019 in a Florence hospital. 

Funeral service will be 3:00 PM on Wednesday, August 7, 2019 in Bethany Baptist Church, Lamar.  Burial will follow in Plaza Memorial Gardens.

On Saturday, August 3, 2019 death invaded our family circle and took flight with our loved one at the call of our Heavenly Father.

Mr. Quentin Simeon Bess was born December 7, 1981 in Darlington County a son of Judy Bess and Liston Flemming. 

He received his former education in the Darlington County Public Schools graduating from Lamar High School Class of 2000.  He furthered his education at Florence-Darlington Technical College receiving a Certificate in Heating & Air Conditioner.  Quentin worked various jobs.

“Hank”, as he was affectionately called by family and friends, was a very kind spirit. He was a member of Bethany Baptist Church.

Those left to cherish fond memories of Quentin Simeon Bess are:  his mother, Judy (Christopher) Coleman of Darlington, SC; his father, Liston Flemming, Jr. of New Jersey; two brothers: Trey Coleman of Orangeburg, SC and Rashard Coleman of Darlington, SC; his paternal grandmother, Queen Flemming of Lamar, SC; seven aunts; nine uncles; special aunt, Margaret Williams; special uncle, Hazkel (Delores) Bess, Jr.; his best friend, Lamont Williams; many other relatives and very dear friends.

He was preceded in death by:  his maternal grandparents, Eula Mae & Haskel Bess, Sr.; his paternal grandparents: Liston Flemming, Sr. and Bessie Coleman.

Visitation for the Bess family will be held at the residence of an aunt, 109 Duke Street, Lamar.
