Mr. Nathaniel James Obituary

It is with sorrow that the management and staff of Mitchell-Josey Funeral Home, Inc. announces the passing of Mr. Nathaniel James of Darlington.  Mr. James expired early Thursday morning, August 19, 2021 at his residence.  

Funeral service is 11:00 AM on Tuesday, August 24, 2021 in the church yard of Flat Creek Baptist Church. Interment will follow in Gandy Cemetery. 

Obituary

    Mr. Nathaniel James was born in Darlington, South Carolina a son of the late Richard James, Sr. and Avenell Pugh James.  He entered into his final resting place on Thursday, August 19, 2021 at his residence. 

    At a young age, Nathaniel joined Flat Creek Baptist Church where he remained a member until his passing.

    He received his formal education in the Darlington County Public School System.

    Nathaniel spent his life in Darlington County where he worked on the Farm for many years.

    He was a loving son, brother, uncle, cousin and friend.  He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him dearly.

    Those left to cherish his loving memory are:  three sisters: Pastor Annie Lou (Deacon Willie) Williamson, Henrietta J. Alford both of Darlington, SC and Hattie Mae Edwards of New Haven, CT; nieces: Patricia Edwards, Rosa Edwards, Tiffany Bridges, Valerie Bridges, Khadijah James all of Darlington, SC; a special great niece, Erica James of the home; nephews: Preston Bridges, Henry James, Joshua James all of Darlington, SC and Willie Bridges, Jr. of Columbus, GA; a special great nephew, True-Allah Liles of Darlington, SC; a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends that loved him very much.  A special thanks to Deacon Freddie and Liz Littles.

    He was preceded in death by his parents: Richard and Avenell James; four sisters: Louise Bridges, Rosetta Edwards, Geneva Moses and Evangelist Mary Douglas; two brothers: Richard James and Andrew James.

 

Visitation for relatives and friends will be at the residence, 2705 Society Hill Road (King Hill Community), Darlington.
