Mr. Malik DeQuan Lowery

It is with heartfelt sorrow that the management and staff of Mitchell-Josey Funeral Home, Inc. announces the passing of Mr. Malik Lowery of Lamar, SC.  Mr. Lowery passed on Friday, December 3rd, 2021 in a Florence Hospital.  

Funeral service is 3:00PM on Saturday, December 11, 2021 at Plaza Memorial Cemetery. Interment will follow. Please adhere social distancing and mask wearing for this service. 

Obituary

Mr. Malik Dequan Lowery was born in Hartsville, South Carolina on February 13, 1996 a eldest son of three born to Wanda Damon and Mark Anthony Lowery.  He transitioned to his new life on Friday, December 3, 2021 at Medical University of South Carolina Health Florence Medical Center, Florence, SC.

He received his formal education in the Darlington and Florence Counties Public School System. Malik worked various jobs in South Carolina.

At an early age, he attended Image of Christ in Lamar, SC under the leadership of Pastor Jackie Thomas.

Malik was preceded in death by: his maternal and paternal grandparents; a host of cousins and one niece.

Those left  to cherish his memory are:  his mother, Wanda Damon of Lamar, SC; his father, Mark Anthony Lowery of Timmonsville, SC; six children:  Kaelin Smith, Kaliyah Oliver, Ragan Brown, Karson Richardson, Olivia Lowery and Jaicey Lowery; his siblings: Marcus (Michelle) Martin, Courtney Martin, Marquavius Lowery, Quintashia Lowery, Madison Johnson and Martez Jonson; five nieces; three nephews; a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends; his special friend, JaNayaa Mitchell and one child he reared as his own, ZaNayaa Davis.

Visitation is being held at the residence of his mother, Ms. Wanda Damon, 465 Hibiscus Road, Lamar.
