Mr. Lonza Lee "Sonny" Green

It is with sorry that the management and staff of Mitchell-Josey Funeral Home, Inc. announces the passing of Mr. Lonza Lee Green, affectionately known as "Sonny."  Mr. Green passed on Tuesday, November 29, 2022 at McLeod Regional Medical Center following an illness. 

Funeral service is 11:00 AM on Saturday, December 3, 2022 in the Chapel of Mitchell-Josey Funeral Home, Inc. 

Obituary

    Mr. Lonza Lee Green was born March 9, 1962 in Darlington, SC a son of Ruby Green Melton and the late Alphonso Carolina.  He entered into his final resting place Tuesday, November 29, 2022 at McLeod Regional Medical Center, Florence, SC.

    He received his formal education in the Darlington County Public Schools graduating from St. John’s High School.

   At an early age, he attended Cherry Grove Baptist Church.

   “Sonny”, as he was affectionately called by family and friends, lived all his life in Darlington County where he was gainfully employed until his health declined.

  Those left to cherish his memory are:  his mother, Ruby Green Melton of New Castle, DE; one sister, Lisa Williams of Philadelphia, PA; two brothers: Eric Melton and Allen (Sheila) Melton both of Philadelphia, PA; six nephews:  Aaron Williams, Adam Williams, Andrew Williams, Quentin Melton, IsaiahMelton and Ethan Melton; grandniece, Kensington; one uncle, Harry Lee Carolina; three aunts: Rosa Lee Carolina Head and Annie Murray, Carrie Green; a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.

There will be no visitation at the residence.
