It is with sorrow that the management and staff of Mitchell-Josey Funeral Home, Inc. announces the passing of Mr. Lamont Simon, 42 or Lamar, SC. Mr. Simon passed on Wednesday, July 21, 2021 in a Charleston hospital.
Funeral service is 12 Noon on Monday, July 26, 2021 in Plaza Memorial Gardens, Lamar. Interment will follow.
Obituary
Mr. Lamont Craig Simon was born in Darlington, South Carolina on May 28, 1979 a son of Charlena Simon and Ervin White. He departed this life on Wednesday, July 21, 2021 in the Medical University of South Carolina, Charleston, SC.
Lamont was a friendly, loving and outgoing person. He wasloved dearly by his family and friends and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He received his formal education in the Darlington County Public Schools and was employed at various jobs in the construction field.
Those left to cherish his memory are: his mother, Charlena Simon; his father, Ervin White; his sisters: LaTasha (Rodney) Stanley and Michelle (Timothy) Samuel; his brothers: Eric Simon, Jamal White, Markeith Lighty and Damarus Lighty; his sons: Lazarus Simon, Paris Daeshawn Edwards and Trey Wheeler; his daughters: Taquisha Edwards and Tyasia Campbell; s a god-daughter, Zykeria Durant; everalgrandchildren: King Williams, Kareem Williams, Karsen Williams, Kassidy Williams and Kamod Williams; maternal aunts: Teresa (Kenneth) Payne and Vickie Mixon; paternal aunts: Rosalind Pringle, Arnethea Davis, Ramona Lee and Kathy Turner; maternal uncles: Charles Simon, Vonzella Simon and Edward Spann; paternal uncle, Gregory White; several great aunts and uncles; a devoted friend, Renia Wheeler; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the residence, 677 Bay Branch Road, Lamar.
