                                                                ~Life's Reflections~

LJ “Pop Pop” McCain was born to the late Willie and Rosezella McCain in Darlington, South Carolina on June 23, 1946. He was the 7th child out of 15 children (Marjorie (deceased), Willie (deceased), James (deceased), Frank (deceased), Lonnie, Henry (deceased), Gertie, Lillie, Francis, Joyce, Jack (deceased), Joe, Ronnie and Wilda).

LJ was educated in the public schools of Darlington. He moved to New York as a young man. He eventually settled in Far Rockaway, New York with his family.  He worked at Long Island Jewish Hospital in New Hyde Park, New York for over 35 years until his retirement.

During his time on earth, LJ enjoyed fishing, working on cars, gardening, painting and spending time with family and friends. LJ was the type of man that would help others in their time of need. He was always willing to sow into other’s lives. If he had it, you had it. He was there for many of his friends and family during their tough times.

He loved to talk to his nephews and anyone else who would listen about life. He was planting little seeds of do’s and don’ts. He loved teaching others the things he enjoyed like how to fish, how to work on cars, how to paint, and how to garden. He enjoyed sharing stories about his childhood and growing up in the “south”.

After retirement, LJ was convinced by his daughters to relocate to Waldorf, Maryland to spend his final years surrounded by family. He enjoyed his grandchildren who had him wrapped around their fingers. He spent his final days in the home of his youngest daughter Kim, son-in-law Corey, and their children. He would depart from this earth on April 22, 2019.  LJ rekindled his relationship with God before departing.

LJ leaves to cherish his memories, his wife Allie Williams McCain, his daughters: Stacy McCain, Bridget McCain Perras, and Kimberly McCain- Threewitts; His son-in-law, Cornell Threewitts; his brothers and sisters: Lonnie (Claudia) McCain, Gertie Lide, Lillie (Benny) McCain, Francis (Kirk) Wingate, Joyce McCain, Ronnie McCain, and Wilda McCain. His sisters-in-law, Karen McCain, Eula McCain, Rena McCain, Easter Frye, Earline Langston and Gloria Jean Brown, His brother –in –law, Waymon Williams. His grandchildren Maurice Wilson, Aza Wilson, Brielle Perras, Andre Perras, Branden Threewitts, Isaiah Threewitts, Christian Threewitts, Elijah Threewitts, Nigel Threewitts, Jada Threewitts, Jorden Threewitts and one great-grandson, Marley Threewitts; and a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.
