Obituary
For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal. 2 Corinthians 4:17-18
Joseph Rogers or Stevie as most of you may have known him by was born on January 10, 1953 in Hartsville, South Carolina to the late Joseph Rogers and late Mary Ann C. Rogers. When Stevie released his last breath, he left an eternal void in the hearts of those that loved him. He is rejoining his lovely wife Sylvia “Bert” Rogers.

While at Butler, he participated in the marching band and the Butler High School Glee Club. He always was a part of the annual talents shows and performed many songs over the years. After high school, Mr. Rogers enlisted in the United States Army and served as a private first class during the Vietnam Conflict. After his honorable discharge from the military, he began driving long distance trucks. That was his passion until he was unable to so because of his health.
Stevie enjoyed life to the fullest and was always “the life of the party”. He leaves to enjoy great memories two daughters Ayesha Rogers Pruitt (Derrick Blocker son-in-law) and Joy Charles and one son Derrick Cabbagestalk Sr.; six grandchildren JayVeion Pruitt, AshLynn Charles, Bria Charles, Derrick Cabbagestalk Jr., Derrick Cabbagestalk III, MyneKiy “Shay” Cabbagestalk and host of great grandchildren.
