It is with sorrow that the management and staff of Mitchell-Josey Funeral Home, Inc. announces the passing of Mr. Joe B. Carraway of Darlington. Mr. Carraway expired on Sunday, October 23, 2022 at his residence.
Funeral service is 12 Noon on Saturday, October 29, 2022 in the Mitchell-Josey Funeral Home Chapel.

Mr. Joe Bryant Carraway was born in Darlington, South Carolina on August 7, 1949, a son of the late Bernetha Carraway and Shine McClain. He departed this life on Sunday, October 23, 2022 at the residence of his sister, Annie Green of Darlington, SC.
He received his formal education in the Darlington County Public Schools where he attended Spaulding High School, Lamar, SC.
After graduation, he moved to Baltimore, MD where he was employed at Pimlico Race Track and self-employed Carpenter.
At an early age, he attended Bethany Baptist Church in Lamar, SC and attended Holiness Church in Baltimore, MD.
Those left to cherish his memory are his children: Bryant Carraway, Adriane Carraway, LaTisha Carraway, Valery Carraway and Nee Nee Littles; a host of grandchildren; five sisters: Joan Davis of Baltimore, MD, Jean Durant of Darlington, SC, Emma Jean Gunn of Timmonsville, SC, Betty Blathers of Clanton, NC and Annie (Mack) Greene of Darlington, SC; four brothers: Wilson Carraway of Baltimore, MD, Robert Carraway of Darlington, SC, Willie Jr. Carraway of Baltimore, MD, Michael (Barbara) Carraway of Darlington, SC; a sister-in-law, Deborah Carraway of Darlington, SC; a special friend of 40 years, Patricia Littles of Baltimore, MD; his longtime buddy, Olson Bannister of Baltimore, MD; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his siblings: a son, Jermaine Carraway; siblings: Barbara Carraway, Herbert Carraway, Carl Carraway, Leroy Carraway and Willie B. Carraway; a nephew, Christopher “Smokey” Carraway.
Visitation for relatives and friends is held at 2620 Chickadee Lane, Lot #9, Darlington.
