Mr. Jesse James Damon, Jr.

It is with heartfelt sorrow that the management and staff of Mitchell-Josey Funeral Home, Inc. and members of the Damon family announce the passing of Mr. Jesse James Damon, Jr. of Lamar. Mr. Damon exchanged time for eternity on late Saturday evening, July 27th at his residence. 

Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM, Saturday, August 3, 2024, at Savannah Grove AME Church, Lamar, SC. Interment will follow the service at Zion Cemetery, Lamar, SC.

LIFE’S REFLECTIONS

A TIME TO BE BORN:

   Mr. Jesse James Damon, Jr. was born in Lamar, South Carolina on September 21, 1965 the only son of the late Corine Elaine Damon and son of the late Jesse James Hough.

A TIME TO GROW:

    Jesse grew up in the town of Lamar, SC where he received his formal education in the Darlington County Public School System graduating from Lamar High School Class of 1984. He was employed at Sherlock Metal Roofing Company LLC for many years.

A TIME TO WORSHIP:

    On July 9, 2023, Jesse became a member of Savannah Grove A.M.E. Church in Lamar, SC.  On Saturday, July 27, 2024, our beloved family member answered the call of his heavenly Father and transitioned to his eternal resting place.

A TIME FOR FAMILY:

    Those left to cherish his precious and loving memories are:  his children:  Jesse James Damon, III., Justin James Damon and Kaylie Lacy Ann Damon; a son he loved as his own, Anthony Brunson; his step father, Calvin Robinson; a special guardian, Lakesha Damon of the home; his sisters: Sylvia SansburyBernette (Alford) McCoy (caregiver) and Bernice (Larry) Price; an uncle, Purvis George, Jr.; an aunt, Thomasina Spann Damon; a host of cousins, other relatives an friends; his lifelong best friend, James Dixon.

A TIME TO REMEMBER:

    He was preceded in death by his parent:  Jesse James Hough and Corine Damon Robinson; and his brother: Jesse James Hough.

Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the residence, 1954 Una Road, Lamar, SC.
