It is with heartfelt sorrow that the management and staff of Mitchell-Josey Funeral Home, Inc. announces the passing of Mr. Jerry Louis Cannon of Florence. Mr. Cannon passed on Wednesday morning, August 19, 2020 at his residence.
Funeral service is 3:00 pm on Sunday, August 23, 2020 in Odom Cemetery, Knotty Pine Road, Darlington. Interment will follow. Mask wearing and social distancing is required.

Mr. Jerry Lewis Cannon was born in Darlington County on December 8, 1953, a son of Melissia Coe Cannon and the late Dozier Cannon, Jr. He departed this life on Wednesday, August 19, 2020 at his home in Darlington County after a short illness.
He received his formal education at the Darlington County Public school system where he attended Mayo High School.
He lived all of his life in Darlington, SC where he was gainfully employed. He worked various construction site, he was also employed at Florence-Darlington Technical College.
Jerry Lewis loved fishing, hunting, cook-outs and fixing & rebuilding cars. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Those left to cherish his memory are: his beloved mother, Evangelist Melissia C. Cannon; his two sons: Erick Cannon and Rufus Cannon; his daughter, Melody Cannon; his four grandchildren: Harmony Cannon, Jeremiah Cannon, Nehemiah Cannon and Symphony Cannon; a uncle, Alford Coe; two aunts: Anna Ruth Coe and Geraldine Sparks; a host of other relatives and friends.
