Mr. Jermain “Mar Luv" Berry

It is with heartfelt sorry that the management and staff of Mitchell-Josey Funeral Home, Inc. and members of the James and Berry families announce the passing of Mr. Jermain Berry, also known as "Mar Luv" of Darlington.  Mr. Berry expired on Sunday, November 26, 2023 at his residence. 

Funeral service is 2:00pm Saturday, December 2, 2023 in Lawson Grove Baptist Church. Interment will Faith Memorial Garden. 

Obituary

    Mr. Jermain “Mar Luv” Berry was born December 16, 1976 in Darlington, South Carolina a son of Mae James Terry and James Lee Berry. He suddenly departed this life on Sunday, November 26, 2023 at his residence.

     Jermain received his formal education in the Darlington County Public School System. Jermain worked various jobs until his health declined.

     Mr. Jermain “Mar Luv” Berry was a loving son, father, brother, uncle, cousin, nephew and friend. He will be greatly missed by his family, neighbors and friends who dearly loved him.

     Survivors left to cherish his loving memory are: his parents:  Mae James (Donald) Terry, James Lee Berry all of Darlington, SC; one daughter, Morquasia Berry of Darlington, SC; one sister, Latarsha Berry of Darlington, SC; two half-sisters: Quintina Moses of Darlington, SC and Wanda Dargan of Timmonsville, SC; a special nephew, Roland Marcell Bruce; special nieces: Imani Benson, Andrea Berry & Abreanna Jett; special sister, Flone Benson; Lifetime Friend Shetoria B. Berry and her daughter Sharonda McCullum; special friends: Matthew Dunham, Antonio Rouse, Demetri Russell and Andre Hudson; special cousins: Bugga, Fonta, Red, Doggie, Bart, Snake, PT, Dope, Dap, Al, Eric, Fred, Neal, Quan, Ty Buggie, O C, Junior, Mal, Tae, Dre, Brandon, Trey, Zay, Tavise, Que Jacobs; Special friends: Aubrey Carroway, Gerrod Mack, Timothy Flynn, Keyonce Flynn, Calvin Sawyer, Franklin Brown, Que Bruce, D-Ray, Poobie, Lil Mark, Baby Joe & Chain.

     Those who preceded him in death are:  his brother, Andra “Ju-Ju” Berry; his maternal grandparents: Robert and Rosetta James; his paternal grandparents, Cleveland and Lucille Bostic; four aunts; two uncles; two special friends: Tony Jett and Markese “Kese” Robinson.

Visitation for relatives and friends will be a the residence of a sister, LaTarsha Berry, 239 Ridge Road, Darlington.
