Mr. Jeremiah Christopher Wilds

With heartfelt sympathy, the management and staff of Mitchell-Josey Funeral Home, Inc., and members of the Wilds and Bess families announce the passing of Mr. Jeremiah Christopher Wilds of Darlington, SC. Mr. Wilds transitioned Saturday, November 30, 2024, at McLeod Regional Medical Center in Florence, SC, after an illness. 

Funeral service is 12:00 Noon on Saturday, December 7, 2024 at Round O Missionary Baptist Church. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. 

Obituary

Mr. Jeremiah Christopher “J. W.” Wilds was born in Darlington, South Carolina on November 23, 1976, where he was the youngest son of five siblings, to the late Robert Lee Wilds, Sr. and Elizabeth Bess Wilds.  He traded in his earthly home for his heavenly home on Saturday, November 30, 2024 at McLeod Regional Medical Center, Florence, SC after an unexpected illness.

He received his formal education in the Darlington County Public Schools graduating from Mayo High School Class of 1995. Later, he continued his education at Florence-Darlington Technical College, Florence, SC.

At an early age, he was a member of Round-O Missionary Baptist Church, Darlington, SC.

Jeremiah worked various jobs in his lifetime but most of his years, he worked at Darlington Veneer Company.

Jeremiah was a loving son, father, brother, grandfather, uncle, family member and friend.  He loved to entertain, be with family and friends.  Jeremiah will truly be missed by all who knew and loved him dearly.

He was preceded in death in addition to his parents: a brother, Frederick L. Wilds.

Those left to cherish his precious memories are:  his three daughters:  Brittany (Ryan) Pierce, BriAnna Wilds and Brazlyn Wilds all of Darlington, SC; two grandsons: Britton Pierce and Rylan Pierce; three brothers: Herbert Wilds, Robert (Regina) Wilds, Jr. and Calvin Wilds; several aunts and uncles; a host of nephews, cousins, other family members; his close friends: Frankie Johnson, Craig Littles and Cornelius Rush and other friends.

Visitation for family and friends will be held daily from 4:00-8:00 PM at the home of his daughter, Brittany Pierce, 2404 East Lydia Hwy, Hartsville, SC.
