Mr. Jeffrey L. Miles

It is with heartfelt sorrow that the management and staff of Mitchell-Josey Funeral Home, Inc. and members of the Miles family announce the passing of Mr. Jeffrey L. Miles of Myrtle Beach, SC, formally of Darlington, SC. Mr. Miles passed on Friday, January 6, 2023 in Horry County. 

Funeral service is 11:30am on Thursday, January 12, 2023 in Macedonia Baptist Church. Interment will follow in Florence National Cemetery. 

Mr. Jeffrey  Levance Miles aka “Jabba” departed at the age of 52 on Thursday, January 5th, 2023 at South Strand Ambulatory Care in Myrtle Beach, SC.

Jeffrey was born on April 15th 1968 to the late Peggy Miles and Fred Jackson of Darlington, SC. Jeffrey attended Mayo High School where he played basketball & football. While attending high school he received the Golden Helmet award and multiple awards from best dressed to most comical. After graduating from Mayo High School in 1987, Jeffrey joined the United States Army where he served as a cannon crew member at Fort Sill, Oklahoma.

Shortly after departing from the US Army, Jeffrey relocated to North Myrtle Beach, SC to further his career in Culinary Arts. He worked in several high chain restaurant’s and even as a Correctional officer at J Reuben Long Detention Center. He received numerous accolades and acknowledgement for his signature dishes, professionalism, and his hilarious entertainment.

Jeffrey was an innovator, go-getter and most importantly one of a kind. He touched the lives of countless people and will truly be missed. His uniqueness and high spirit will forever be treasured in our hearts.

Jeffrey was predeceased by three siblings:  Juanita Miles-Conley, Calvin Miles and Thelma Miles-Flynn.

Those left to cherish his memory are: his wife, Tina Miles; two daughters: JaQuanna Miles of Atlanta, GA and Whitney Miles of Shallotte, NC; two step-sons: Trey Washington and Nigel Valentine; four grandchildren: Khari Davis, Kier Davis, Kennedy Miles and Levi Valentine; his siblings: Patricia (Winford) Ford, Baxter Kirven, Jr., Jackie Stanley, Helen Jett, Kelvin Miles and Sherri Miles; nieces: Monique Daley, Latoyia Miles, Alexis Miles, Laronda Flynn, Latasha Blathers, Peggy Stanley, Tonya Washington, Brenda Lynn Hamilton, Stacie Jett, Stephanie Jett, Macey Lynn Gerald, Renee Kirven; nephews: Tyrone Miles, Jamie Coe, Waddell Coe, Tyrese Blathers, Lawrence Flynn, Phillip Miles, Brentwood Kirven III, Keith Kirven, Alex Stanley and Ladron Coe;  grandnieces and nephews; a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.

Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the residence of a niece, Ms. LaToya Miles, 516 Mallard Duck Drive, Darlington.
