Mr. James “Slim” Mozone

It is with profound sorrow that the management and staff of Mitchell-Josey Funeral Home, Inc. announces the passing of Mr. James “Slim” Mozone of Darlington. Mr. Mozone transitioned on Tuesday, July 21, 2020 in McLeod Regional Medical Center. 

Funeral service is 11:00 AM on Saturday, July 25, 2020 at Faith Memorial Gardens. Interment will follow. Please adhere to wearing a  face mask and social distancing.  

Obituary

    Mr. James Mozone was born July 16, 1931 in Summerton, SC a son of the late Donee and Annie Frazier Mouzone.  He entered into his final resting place on Tuesday morning, July 21, 2020 at McLeod Regional Medical Center, Florence, SC.

    He received his formal education in the Clarendon County Public School System.

    James was employed as a farm worker and he also worked in pulpwood because he loved being outside taking in the sunshine.

    He attended St. John’s Temple Church in Society Hill, SC.

    “Slim”or “Slim Jim”, as he was affectionately called by family and friends, was a sweet and loving person who was loved by many.  He will be dearly missed by all who knew him and loved him.

    Survivors left to cherish his memory are:  his loving wife of 47 years, Ola Mae Mozone of the home; three daughters: Lila Robinson of The Bronx, NY, Addie (Willie) Brown of Darlington, SC and Tarsha F. Robinson of Easton, PA; six grandchildren: Addrick Robinson of Atlanta, GA, Prashant (Disney) Robinson of Myrtle Beach, SC, Corey Robinson of The Bronx, NY, Jasmin Rivera of Darlington, SC, Courtney Rivera of The Bronx, NY and Alana Wilson of Easton, PA; six great grandchildren; a special nephew, Terrance Robinson of Columbia, SC; three sister-in-law; five brother-in-law; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

    He was preceded in death by: three brothers: Elliott Mouzone, King Mouzone and Donee Mouzone.

Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at 515 Brockington Road, Darlington.
